From the Sinister Six to rumors of Venom, The Amazing Spider-Man: Rise of Electro trailer has certainly got people talking and right now Sony are looking strong going into 2014's CBM war.
But as well as being a truely, wait for it,
amazing trailer (see what I did there?), we also have some brilliant blink and you'll miss it moments, and luckily for you here they are.
The Final Battle?
First up we have what may well be one of the last parts of the film, Spidey and Electro's unavoidable showdown. The two shots, taken from either end of the trailer, seem to show two things clearly, Spider-Man v Electro and lots of destruction.
Look closely between Peter and the NYPD's luckiest officer and you'll see a pretty clearly defined blue figure. I wonder who that could be and what do they want to do in Times Square?
Oh... well... I suppose we can add another few billion to the US debt pot, you know, for clean up and stuff...
The Rhinobots
Grimlock Sorry, Rhino's suit design has come under a monumental amount of scrutiny since pictures first hit the web. Mostly because he wouldn't be out of place in
Transformers: Age of Extinction. Regardless of what the suit is like we can be sure that Oscar winner Paul Giamatti will make the most of his time as Aleksei Sytsevich (The reason for the red star on his shoulder not needing to be explained... He's Russian, for the stupid)
The Goblin
Green Goblin? Protogoblin? Hob Goblin? Ultimate Goblin? Okay probably not Ultimate, but aside from that your guess is as good as mine when it comes to what rendition of Spidey's arch-enemy we'll end up seeing come May. So far, all we know is that Dane DeHann's Harry Osborne will be the first man to don the... stupid looking pixie hair?
The Teaser Screen
Could this be the biggest reap of hints ever or simply another throw away easter egg by a fanboy editor? Who knows but it does seem to be a tad over detailed to be a red herring. Closer inspection of the screen gives us tabs such as
Venom Storage, Dr. Curt Connors, Morbius, The Australia Project, Ravencroft Prison, Electrical Power Plants and most interestingly,
The OS Suit Marks 1, 2 and 3. Could this OS suit be the Green Goblin's new, mechanical suit?
Gwen Stacy
Gwen Stacy, Peter Parker, the Green Goblin and a high tower; Historically, not good news for Gwen. With all of Mary Jane Watson's scenes being cut from the film some had speculated that Gwen may live to see another outing with Sony. Unfortunately for Gwen, it looks like Emma Stone will have one less acting gig after 2014.
Take what you will from this editorial, at it's core it is nothing but a fan and his ideas. 2014 promises to be a huge year for comic book movies, kicking off with
Captain America: The Winter Solider and closing with the astronomical
Guardians of the Galaxy. We've saw 3 of the 4 trailers and there's no outright leader right now, let's just sit back and wait, it will surely be... AMAZING.
