That's right, we have yet another new featurette for The Amazing Spider-Man! This one takes a look at an aspect of the reboot that many fans weren't particularly fond of when they first found out about it - Peter Parker and his skateboard. There's nothing too exciting in the below video (courtesy of our friends over at MTV Splash Page) but it does offer us a pretty interesting insight into just how much work actor Andrew Garfield put in to perfecting Parker's skills on a board. In fact, he goes so far as to say that, "there's something so beautiful about" the art of skateboarding and that, "It's like someone pounding up a ladder and then floating through the clouds." Check it out below and sound off with your thoughts in the usual place.

The Amazing Spider-Man is the story of Peter Parker (Garfield), an outcast high schooler who was abandoned by his parents as a boy, leaving him to be raised by his Uncle Ben (Sheen) and Aunt May (Field). Like most teenagers, Peter is trying to figure out who he is and how he got to be the person he is today. Peter is also finding his way with his first high school crush, Gwen Stacy (Stone), and together, they struggle with love, commitment, and secrets. As Peter discovers a mysterious briefcase that belonged to his father, he begins a quest to understand his parents' disappearance - leading him directly to Oscorp and the lab of Dr Curt Connors (Ifans), his father's former partner. As Spider-Man is set on a collision course with Connors' alter-ego, The Lizard, Peter will make life-altering choices to use his powers and shape his destiny to become a hero.

STARRING:

Andrew Garfield as Peter Parker/Spider-Man
Emma Stone as Gwen Stacy
Rhys Ifans as Curt Connors/The Lizard
Martin Sheen as Uncle Ben
Sally Fields as Aunt May
Denis Leary as George Stacy

RELEASE DATE: July 3rd, 2012.

Peter is so not a nerd in this... He's cool and I wouldn't be surprised if he ends up being a vampire spider man like he became in the comics. I think Sony is planning on a marvel zombies thing.

You don't need to be fat and ugly or have glasses or look like a dork to be a nerd. People do have diff likes dislikes and hobbys like skating

Just staying away from this stuff. Home skating won't make the movie suck but it doesn't help success either. It's a gimmick. That's all it is. To get a younger make audience interested in superheroes.

I was a jock, popular, played video games, skated, read comics, and was in a band in high school. Yet I'm still a nerd when it comes to a lot of this stuff. And I also get shuned on this site a lot for not being "one of us" even though I like a lot of what "nerds" do I don't see how my interests effect the people shunning. I guess I'm not allowed to like sports and superheroes.

@preach, I had great parenting so I knew right from wrong. The only people I pick on are the ones who deserve it. That's your life bud it's not my choice what you like. Just because I like certain things doesn't mean I'm not a nice guy. People stereotype others way too much.

I don't think people understand Peter Parker he's not necessarily a nerd but he was more of an outsider, he didn't talk or interact with certain people because he simply didn't want too if anything the most important aspect is his genius mind and so far the movie has that nailed down so what if he skate boards are you guys serious lol sometimes im surprised by the ignorance here

The thing is, guys, is he's not supposed to be a COOL nerd. He's supposed to be the kinda nerd that other people look at and go "man, that guy is a dork. I would never invite him to my parties. He is a walking cockblock." NOT "he's got nice hair, skateboards and is a mysterious outside that likes nerdy shit."

JUST SHUT UP, so what if its not in the comics. Nerds arent outcasts anymore you guys half the world wants to be a "nerd" which is so annoying, people call themselves nerds and wear fake glasses cause they think that makes them nerds.

This is more realistic and true to our world. "hes not a nerd", just cause he skates doesnt mean hes not a nerd. Skateboardings kind of fun guys. I skateboard and i get straight A's i was 5th in my class last year. in the other featurettes and clips he still loves science with a huge passion and he doesnt have friends he just does his own thing. And if you got superpowers im pretty sure some of you would pic up a skateboard. In the ultimate spiderman comics, when he got his powers he joined the basketball team. Just stop complaining.
