Oscorp To End All Cross Species Experiments In Latest AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2 Daily Bugle Viral

Looks like things at OsCorp have gone a bit feral. The cross species genetics project, responsible for the creation of everyone's favourite wall crawler, is being shut down. Hit the jump for the full news from NYC!

It looks like the old saying is wrong, there is such a thing as bad PR! Norman Osbourne's science sanctuary is shutting down it's cross species genetics programme, the very programme responsible for the creation of Spider-Man, in an attempt to distance themselves from The Lizard's attack on New York in 2012! Here's what the latest post in The Daily Bugle's viral website had to say:

Oscorp Industries announced today that it has destroyed any and all research it has done in the horrifying field of cross-genetics.
This news comes in the wake of the recent sentencing of former Oscorp geneticist turned terrifying lizard creature Dr. Curt Connors.
Once a pioneer in the field of cross-genetics, Connors’s work transformed him into a literal monster who rampaged across Manhattan.

Anyone else think that the way they are building Oscorp as the source of alot of the the rogue gallery sets things up very to bring in Scorpion at some point?

Scorpion I always thought was awesome but a little forgotten in the movie world.

This new Intruder is the worst dupe I've ever seen on this site.

But I see they are going more of the Smythe and Venom with Sinister Six mixed in. This Universe they want to create is interesting. Spidey has as good a universe as anything out there. So rich and looks great on the big screen.

Good. I was hoping that spidey's villains would NOT all come from a cross species ""experiment"" in these movies.. That would be really repetitive and would get old REAL fast.

@SotoJuiceMan Yeah I don't see it fitting in with the storyline they are playing, but when they start to do the Non Spiderman Movies like Sinister 6 and others can the storyline work it in somewhere? I doubt it but I think it would look cool on screen.

Looking forward to TASM 2, loved the first, but I'm a bit worried about Sony's sudden plan to start a Spidey universe... the only way I can see it working is lots of mini-franchises revolving around characters like Venom (either Eddie Brock or Flash Thompson) and the other versions of Spider-Man - Scarlet Spider (preferably Kaine based on his recent series, although I'd rather he not be a clone of Peter... maybe an escaped Oscorp cross-species instead?), Miles Morales (with a reworked origin so he's not a replacement for Spidey), Spider-Man 2099 might be interesting too... maybe even a Black Cat movie? There's potential, but I don't want it to be run into the ground, and I think Spider-Man/Peter Parker needs to be the most important figure in that universe...

personally i like the idea of oscorp being resposible for the creation of these villains. What i dont like is that sony is already two movies in this new spiderman universe and still no J Jonah Jameson.

We're seeing way too much of this movie already. It's only February and so much footage and images have been released.

Base this Spidey universe off of te 90s cartoon pleeeeeeeaaaase. That show was one of the greats. It created a broad and terrific mythology for Spidey. The movies should pattern themselves off of that.

They're really trying to make sure I don't have to actually see this movie to know what all happens.

If this means no more villains connected to Oscrop in future movies, then I'm happy about this.

It's not very original to have all the villains origins be tied to Oscorp. It comes off as lazy writing.

I try to be uber-hyped for this movie, but from all the news and all the rumors I become less interested...am starting to feel like I'll even prefer the first one- and that's not a good thing!
