I think it's fair to say that the first glimpse of the costume back in January led to something of a mixed response. While the mechanical web shooters were well recieved by purists, the lack of belt and different design was not. The subsequent onslaught of set photos showing a less than flattering look did nothing to help ease fans fears, although the speculation that it was perhaps only the wrestling suit was a nice thought. Yesterday brought us our first official glimpse of the costume, which looked considerably better than in the above mention leaked pictures, and simultaneously eliminated the though that it's anything other than the suit we'll see throughout the film.

Then of course, there's the title. The Amazing Spider-Man has been a popular choice among fans since the reboot was announced, and I for one think that they couldnt have chosen a better name than the one used for the long running comic book series. However, what do you think about both that and the new suit? Is the new design a good way of distinguishing the franchise from the Raimi series, or have they made a big mistake by not sticking to the comic books?

Be sure to share your thoughts by voting and commenting below, and keep an eye out for the results in a few days time!

The Amazing Spider-Man is set to be released on July 3, 2012!
