The mask is exactly the same as the comics. How can you like Spider-Man, but not his mask?

@Luminus design of the mask is great, I love it
I mean because of plastic mask, his head looks too big and strange

Sony should've stuck to their guns and kept the previous suit. But no.

There's always been a shell underneath the mask, since the 2002 Spider-Man movie. It helps retain the shape of the head, keeps the mask tight, and prevents lips from showing through. It also means the lenses aren't lying on top of the actor's actual eyes.
Overall, it looks better with the shell. :)

Logged in just to agree with you on that, Hot Toys version of this costume as a figurine is a must. As expensive as they are, it'll be worth it right... Yeahhh!

@dmm5 now this is the thing about movies or designs, there is no pleasing everyone. All movies always have something for someone to complain about. There's always gonna be hate.

I know we see these pics and movies and some suits like the Avengers' Cap suit is just now what we would want. BUT anyone that doesn't like this spiderman suit is a freak dumbass! Thats not an opinion, thats a fact! Just like the Raimi suit it is very close to the comic book. He looks just like the title of the movie... AMAZING. and as for the shell underneath....its always been like that. There are pics of Tobey maguire with the shell. It keeps the shape of the mask. Its needed.

How can anyone say the suit looks bad when it is basically the suit from the comics? Anyway, I love it. The eyes are especially great.

"Sony and film magazine Cine PREMIERE combine forces to release a stoic new photo of Andrew Garfield's Spidey"

I laughed when I read that, because how else is he supposed to look wearing a mask with no facial expression? For all we know, that's a jolly happy Spidey.

Yeah plastic headpiece to round off his head and contain all that choppy hair neatly. His Spider-Man comes across too wimpy. I mean Spidey doesn't have a Cap America physique but among his power set is super strength. I find myself laughing when i look at this video gamey looking Spidey. Maybe it's just me.
