WHAT?! That's right, it appears as if Hans Zimmer will be providing the score for The Amazing Spider-Man 2. Of course, before we get TOO excited about the Man of Steel and The Dark Knight Trilogy possibly working on the Marc Webb helmed sequel, it could just be that this interviewer made the suggestion to the director and then got his thoughts on the composer. However, it certainly doesn't sound that way! Regardless, we're going to have to wait for the full interview to be 100% sure, but what do you guys think about Zimmer scoring The Amazing Spider-Man 2?

In The Amazing Spider-Man™ 2, for Peter Parker (Andrew Garfield), life is busy – between taking out the bad guys as Spider-Man and spending time with the person he loves, Gwen (Emma Stone), high school graduation can’t come quickly enough. Peter hasn’t forgotten about the promise he made to Gwen’s father to protect her by staying away – but that’s a promise he just can’t keep. Things will change for Peter when a new villain, Electro (Jamie Foxx), emerges, an old friend, Harry Osborn (Dane DeHaan), returns, and Peter uncovers new clues about his past.

STARRING:

Andrew Garfield as Peter Parker/Spider-Man
Emma Stone as Gwen Stacy
Shailene Woodley as Mary Jane Watson
Jamie Foxx as Max Dillon/Electro
Sally Fields as Aunt May

RELEASE DATE: May 2nd, 2014.

Thank God the score was terrible in the last one. The was one of the many things that ruined the first movie.

Well then. I love Zimmer so that's fine, but I actually enjoyed James Horner's soundtrack.

Lets hope his score for this is better than his score for TDKR and MOS......if this news it true.

Awesome! I thought one of the major problems of the first one was the terrible score. I don't know what other people thought, but I hated the score of the first film.

And yeah, James Horner's score for TASM was garbage.

Awesome if true. Zimmer is one of my all-time favorites. His work on Man Of Steel and The Dark Knight Trilogy is remarkable.

It was SHIT. Shit enough to attract the attention of Zimmer though. Zimmer will make one badass soundtrack for the wallcrawler.

Nice I wasn't really looking forward to this movie, but seeing Jamie's Electro and hearing that Hans Zimmer is doing the score is certainly getting my attention because as much as I like James Horner's work especially his Zorro Score he really needed to be as a far away from this sequel because his score for spider-man was unbearable to hear.

James Horner's score for TASM is the perfect Spider-Man soundtrack. it mixed excitement with elagence and tenderness. I love Zimmer but he isn't THAT good. Not saying Horner is better. First we get shit villains now we get a new composer. Sequel is loosing my interest. Plus, Electro's voice is weak, it needs to be more aggressive and violent

Am I the only one who liked James Horner's score? the track Lizard at school is one of my favorites.

Damn, I really enjoyed Horner's themes, but...there's very little Zimmer has done that I didn't at least enjoy. His Batman stuff was too atmospheric for me (to play in the car at least, since I'm THAT much of a nerd that I enjoy driving with movie themes), but he has some serious range.

That would be GREAT! The score is the last movie was like a watered down Disney TV movie.

Zimmer is very capable in creating glorious tunes, but at times, his score tends to be repetitive, and relies too much on one or two strings of notes. But, it all goes back to the makers; if they know how to utilize his score well, then his score will be remarkable. In that case, Christopher Nolan knows how to do that, and Zack Snyder doesn't. Judging from The Amazing Spider-Man, I think James Horner did a great job, and Marc Webb knows his stuff, so if Zimmer carries on with that, he'll be perfectly fine.

The only downside to Zimmer is his scores are very unmemorable. They're really good but not memorable or anything
