Is this even a question? Have you seen the first two?

It is not doomed but I would not be shocked if the movie franchise ends after the next movie.

@ Jollem

Are you smoking crack my friend? TASM 1 and 2 are okay not great if you are including them in all the Marvel movies.

It all depends on what you consider a failure. Not everyone found the sequel bad. If anything there's a vast number of mixed reviews. I'm interested in the universe they're trying to build. Too many things that can be (although they should've never happened it's not the end of the franchise like people are buffing it out to be)

*that can be fixed*

I think it will push the studio more into making bigger and better movies

I seriously doubt they will end the franchise or better yet I doubt they will let go of it

That's too much money

It will also be released in June instead of May which we'll see "X-Men: Apocalypse, Batman vs Superman AND Captain America 3" all duke it out. <---- what a battle.

To me it's pretty awkward that Marvel wants to keep the spot when BvS was announced in that date first if I'm correct. Now, it's possible Cap 3 was already planned out so that's another story.

blacknerd- it was revealed marvel had set a film for release on that date but it wasent announced which film until after BvS was pushed back from 2015 to that date.

Black Nerd, marvel just had a movie planned there and then dc later put batman vs superman there. i personally think marvel should move cap 3 to july 4th. How has that not happened yet? Feige saying "we had that date first" is bullshit. Dc had an actual movie there first. they didn't even know what movie would be there when they picked that date. so keep BMVSM there and let cap 3 eat up the 4th of july.

TASM 2 was a vast improvement over the first TASM, so they need to keep improving. And to improve they need a stronger story with better developed characters (especially villains) and most importantly Sony execs should have very little input or control (likely won't happen).

Im slightly more optimistic about TASM 3 then I was going into TASM 2 but in order to not be "doomed" the movie really needs to improve in many ways.

@TheBlackNerd I think Cap 3 was there first (but at the time it wasn't revealed it was a Cap movie). One of them should move or both will get financially hurt (especially Cap who has to go up against Supes, Bats, and WW)

I had both very positive and very negative reactions to the movie. Most non comics people I've spoken to about it ranked it among the top Spidey movies. I'm going again today with my coupon from my spectacular spider-man blu-Ray. It really was a great theatre movie. Incredible visuals and sound, great use of the surround and the sub woofers.

For as much as I disliked TASM, I won't say that the sequel is doomed...that's just juvenile. While I have little to no faith in the production team, it's entirely possible that they could turn things around. It took the Fast & Furious franchise 5 movies to finally get good, so it could happen. I'm not holding my breath, however.

I think maybe it's better if they wait 2 to 3 years for another one.
