In The Amazing Spider-Man™ 2, for Peter Parker (Andrew Garfield), life is busy – between taking out the bad guys as Spider-Man and spending time with the person he loves, Gwen (Emma Stone), high school graduation can’t come quickly enough. Peter hasn’t forgotten about the promise he made to Gwen’s father to protect her by staying away – but that’s a promise he just can’t keep. Things will change for Peter when a new villain, Electro (Jamie Foxx), emerges, an old friend, Harry Osborn (Dane DeHaan), returns, and Peter uncovers new clues about his past.

Starring Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, Jamie Foxx, Dane DeHaan, Chris Cooper, Paul Giamatti, Colm Feore, Sally Field, and Chris Zylka, The Amazing Spider-Man 2 is set to be released in the UK on 18th April and in the US on May 2nd.

Looks like a fun popcorn movie, though not a great film. Spider-Man fans will probably say it is the best thing since sliced bread, but I'd take that with a grain of salt.

From what I see,the movie is getting mixed reviews, some liked it ,other didn't,it seems it has a lot to do with the story and the characters,IGN gave it 6.8/10

It's funny that they go from Electro being the main focus of marketing to Green Goblin appearing in everything and just seeing the same old shots of Electro.

I know this has been talked about to death, but something just occurred to me. What's one of the things that makes Spider-Man so appealing? His team-ups. Think about it; whether it's comics or cartoons, spidey teams up with other heroes. It's his niche. But Sony doesn't have any other heroes. So while I'm sure they'll make a third movie for the second time, im starting to think that'll be it. Think about all the rumors about villain movies that Sony has leaked. A Venom movie, a green goblin movie, a sinister six movie. They're desperately trying to see if they can make money off those movies before they dump money into it. Remember, sony movie group is in serious financial trouble. I could totally see a huge announcement after the 3rd installment that Disney has bought the rights back for a ridiculous amount of money...like 1.2 billion. Or maybe it's just wishful thinking.

as far as I can tell, Electro is the main villain with the most screen time, Goblin is the "big bad" who probably won't be revealed until the 3rd act, and Rhino is just someone for Spidey to fight a couple of times (probably once at the very beginning before electro is created, then later on in full mech suit probably at the end of act 2)

#1 didn't have many complaints from critics other than it wasn't original. That was literally the only thing wrong with it for them. Apparently all that was good in TASM was torn down and new things put in place. I heard the story is clunky but the reason it's got majority good reviews is because ANDREW GARFIELD CARRIED THE MOVIE. Him, stone, and Dehaan apparently put the team on their backs and carried the movie. Webb and the writers are the problems from what I heard( doesn't mean I agree, or I will agree cause I haven't seen it.) this franchise at it's heart is a corporate film. It is being made simply to cash in. Sad cause Garfield is such a great actor, the whole cast is great. TASM wasn't bad, it was very good but it suffered from an identity crisis. It didn't know if it was dark, or light hearted. If don't wants to make a ton of money, they need to hire a good and seasoned director. Like Rian Johnson, or David Fincher. Also get good writers. And oh, fire Matt tolmach and Avi arad they keep sticking their noses up the ass of the directors making SM3 and other shit. Sad sony could've actually made a really great spider-man franchise after the first one but it seems to me that they've missed the ball and instead just want to cash in on the CBM money being thrown around. If I don't find TASM2 to be good, I'm jumping over board.

That's the problem, spidey doesn't need a universe. He doesn't need to be in the avengers. If the MCU gets him, they should just put him in a separate universe. And they'll need to spend a considerable amount on him.

I really hope this is good.
I enjoyed TASM but I wasn't a fan of most of the supporting cast, the volatile tone, and the way they portrayed Peter.
Gwen was perfect. Spidey was great (looks even better in tasm2) And loved seeing the lizard on the big screen.

I love when people claim certain franchises are just cash grabs for studios. Do you have any idea what a studio is? Everything they do is a cash grab. Franchises are a studios favorite thing, because they get to build off a brand and make money for years.

All the studios just want our money, but they're learning they may have to release quality films to do so the further cinema advances.
