The Amazing Spider-Man (2012) has given us a grounded and realistic story and villain and the same will be for the next instalment, so no doubt we will see the ultimate version of the Green Goblin in this franchise.

In the ultimate comics, Norman discovered he had turned himself in to a demon like creature known as the Green Goblin after injecting an Oz serum containing his own blood to become a heighted version of himself. The effects of the Oz treated Norman's blood gave him the Ability to change to goblin form, greatly enhanced strength, enhanced durability, healing factor and is able to throw fire-balls. When he uses a smaller dosage it gives him green claws, horns and head, though the rest of him is human like in appearance. When Osborn overdoses on Oz, his horns, stature and muscles become larger and more powerful.

However he should also have a Goblin Glider to show his industrial and original side to his character, here is a great example of the Green Goblin that will fit well with The Amazing Spider-Man franchise:

I would love a combination of both.

I absolutely don't want to see the ultimate Goblin. It's an okay reimagination of the character, but please, leave it in the comic books. Webb have a perfect opportunity to bring us the Goblin looks Raimi didn't deliver, don't waste it !

616 version, the ultimate version would be too much like the lizard which we've already seen in the first movie.

I do want to see the Hobgoblin at some point, so maybe they could fuse those characters together. Don't hate me!

I'd like the transformation aspect of the Ultimate Goblin, but the overall look of the 616 Goblin. I never bought the idea of Goblin wearing a rubber mask, so having Norman transform (through some altered Lizard formula) into a Goblin that looks like the 616 version would be ideal to me (with a cooler/less goofy looking costume)

I also wouldn't mind them making Harry into the Hob Goblin like in the Ultimate Comics, but with the looks of the 616 Hob Goblin. It'd be nice to see that villain on the big screen, but they'll only make so many of these movies before rebooting again, so they probably won't have time to deal with both Harry's transformation into the Green Goblin AND some other villain becoming the Hob Goblin (and whichever other story-lines they want to try out).

Of course, I guess they could also do a movie where Harry becomes Green Goblin and teams up with a character like Roderick Kingsley as the Hob Goblin.

Green Goblin should look like in shattered dimensions noir expect less muscular, and have a purple costume with pants and a hood. That look along with a glider and pumpkin bombs would be a perfect modern fusion of ultimate and 616 universe.

I think it should be the 616 and the Ultimate. My idea is that when he first takes it he'll be the 616 goblin with the glider and the bombs and stuff. Towards the end he should overdose on it and turn into a hulking monster that doesn't have any control that looks like and has the same abilities as the Ultimate.

What I want to happen: 616 Goblin
What I think will happen: Ultimate Goblin

Most likely Webb and Sony will very loosely follow the Ultimate Six arc from the comics, with some major changes of course (i.e. the Avengers can't be in it). Basically all of Spider-mans villains will be locked up for tampering with their genetics (Lizard, Rhino, Electro, Goblin, etc.) Only to escape and become the ultimate six.

This is my ideal conception of Green Goblin:

Looks-wise, i hope to see that GG starts off as the 616 version that we all know and love. Hopefully, it'll look like the picture you presented above. Personality-wise, I'd like to see him psychotically murderous but still very clever. I wouldn't want to see him be like the Green Goblin from Spectacular Spider-Man or the Joker, but a somewhat silent but morbid sense of dark humour would be very welcome. Basically, he'd act like he did in the ultimate comics - a calculating mass murderer.

However, after his defeat, I wouldn't kill Osborn off yet. I'd keep him incarcerated for a few movies. Once it's time for a vengeful return, I'd amp up Osborn and make him Ultimate Green Gobby. We could then adapt the "Death of Spider-Man" story where Spider-Man has a vicious and fatal last stand against Green Goblin. I'd like everything to come together full circle.

Also an adaptation of "The Death of a Goblin" would be nice where Norman kills Harry osborn in cold blood.

Don't hate the ideas please :P

He should just never be the Ultimate Goblin. I don't care if they give us the original Goblin for the next 50 reboots (if they ever do any more reboots, that is). I think it looks WAY over the top. We already have a movie franchise with a giant muscular green hulking monster, thank you.

Well I think among all the TV and film adaptations, we've seen the high tech supersoldier (that's what I call the original rendition of the Goblin- glider, bombs, the works) too much. The 90s series. Spectacular. Willem DaFoe. Personally, I think it would be nice to see the super mutant (ultimate) rendition of the goblin at least once.

Norman is going to either die, or undergo his Ultimate transformation. Yoj don't hide Norman for years, have a scaley villain for the first outing, introduce the "tree of life", (presumably) have Rhino (impenetrable hide), and not do anything with it.

Also, Harry's inclusion kind of guarantees a Goblin. It'd be like Rhodey appearing without/before Tony.

The GG suit really wasnt that bad in the first movie....

Screw Ultimate, 616 all the way.

Definitely a mixture. Have him transform, but no be hulking, and not be really skinny. Fit. I want a redesign of the classic costume, but no tights. Add some armor. Basically, make it like SSM, but don't make him look like an elf.

I would love it if they use the silicon make up they used for the Red Skull in CA:TFA.

I would actually use the Ultimate Spider-Man TV Show version, honestly. It's not a bad design, because he's not too big.

oghalfrican232 - 3/30/2013, 1:22 PM
What would be cool is if Norman just has a costume when he's the Goblin because he knows not to overdose, but when Harry uses it, he overdoses and slowly mutates. Would really like that.

It should be a mix he doesn't have to be a hulk to exhibit those tree of life traits. He can be super strong and green whileon a glider

It looks like the majority want a mixture of 616 and the Ultimate: After he takes the serum he becomes like the 616 version with a Goblin Glider and armour, then he should over dose and become a hulking monster that doesn't have control over himself.

Yea I think most people prefer the mix becasue then we don't have to wonder why Norman wears a mask and how he moves his mouth trough the mask. And he would offer a creepier rendition of the character becasue he can have peeling skin and blood shot red eyes or just yellow eyes.
