Will We See A Brand New Suit In the Spider-Man Reboot?

We all know that the suit in the first trilogy was great translated to the big screen, but what about the upcoming reboot? Are we going to see a very different costume than what we've seen before? Make the jump to find out!

Filming for the new Spider-Man film is starting very soon, and for now we know most of the cast and who are they going to play. But what about the iconic suit? In Sam Raimi's trilogy, the costume was made very well, and they showed a great respect to the character creators.

Now, according to Showbiz Spy, it looks like that we will see a different, high tech suit in the 3D reboot:

"Andrew has been through numerous fittings for the suit which is a very high-tech design", reveals a movie insider.

This could be very interesting and it doesn't mean that they will change the look of the costume at all, but it brings some questions in what kind of direction are they going.

Marc Webb is directing the untitled reboot, with Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, Rhys Ifans, Martin Sheen, Sally Field and Denis Leary starring in the upcoming adaptation.

Film is set to hit theatres on July 3, 2012.

So, what do you think of this? Just like I said, this doesn't mean that they will change the whole suit, so keep that in mind. Put your thoughts below!

Great find buddy! I'm curios how different he'll look, because though I wasn't much of a fan of the movies, I admit they adapted the costume into film very descent)

High tech? It should look like something a teenage high school student would be able to create, albeit, a very smart one. It should LOOK pretty low-tech. Whatever.

I hope it is that suit. Glad somebody brought back the proportionate eyes on the mask already. That looks great. So tired of that lame Mcfarlane look anymore. Lanky with big eyes. It's spiderman not spiderboy.

People complain about the Web Shooters coming from his veins, but I think that makes more sense than he got bit by the spider and then somehow knew the formula and created shooters. I also thought it was stupid when he ran out...the fact that they were originally shooters is an idea that needs to change with the times. Costume wise, I think that Spidey's had so many over the years...I'd like it if they went a Batman Begins/TDK route (not in the sense that its high tech soldier geaer cuz realistically where would Parker get access to that) but that it changes and evolves from Film to Film. I'm ok starting with the Old Skool Bright Red "Amazing Spiderman" one but then progress to a more modern version of Alex Ross's...with the Bright Red Shoulders and the Black bottom. IMO.

Well....would you have liked them to use the Batman & Robin Suits for Batman Begins?

I know it will never happen but one spider-man costume ive always loved was this suit:

patriautism@ That suit is perfect for this!:)

LEEE777@ They should definitely bring the clone saga in this series!:)... Or the story where Spidey starts to change into Spider Doppleganger!:) That would be cool! Then they could bring Kraven and Chameleon in the big screen!
And more crazier Green Goblin would be great too!
I really hope this is much darker than Raimis movies!

Eviltwin - 11/29/2010, 1:53 PM
I'd like to see them change the eyes on the suit. Other than that, the Raimi movie's suit was good.

I don't know why they would change the suit the last one was fine. Infact I don't know why they are rebooting the series to begin with they had a good thing going why they decided to flush all of that down the toilet is beyond me.

Maybe it's hi-tech in terms of the webshooters and how they fit into the costume? Maybe there's going to be webshooters in this one...

ALEX ROSS=the best Spider-Man artist ever!

RockNRollCC
RockNRollCC - 11/29/2010, 2:17 PM
@Alex that could have worked for a Spider-Man 4 plot.

Here's how the Raimi series COULD have been:

Spider-Man
1-Discovering his powers. Villain = GG
2-losing his powers. Villain = Doc Ock
3-going into darker places with himself & his powers. Villain = Venom ONLY
4-Transformation into Man-Spider. Villain = Lizard, then Kraven.
Eviltwin
Eviltwin - 11/29/2010, 2:22 PM
@patriautism

JJ would be perfect for it. Actually, he'd be perfect for the current movie too.

I think he'd bring the right mix of action, humour, drama to it all.
GUNSMITH

HOW DO YOU EXPLAIN WEBSHOOTERS? A KID WITH NO MONEY CAN MAKE A WEB FLUID SHOOTING MECHANISM THAT CAN HOLD HIS BODYWEIGHT OR SUSPEND A CAR IN MID AIR, THE EASY WAY OUT IS ORGANIC...HIGH TECH SUIT?
patriautism
patriautism - 11/29/2010, 2:27 PM
@GUNSMITH

How to explain web shooters?I think the answer is use the Ultimate version of them.
His father was also a scientist working on adhesive research, and being a genius Peter completed it.

As long as it looks cool and is fairly faithful to the classic look, I'm good. Honestly, the only changes I'd personally make is to have black, raised webbing instead of silver, make the colors a bit more vibrant, change the shape of the spiders on the front/back, and change the shape of the eyes a bit. I'm pretty open to other changes though, as long as it is recognizable as Spidey, which I'm pretty confident it will be.

@Stubbyswof

I'm not a fan of that suit even for the comic, lol.

They have to stop with the gimmicky suits for Spidey.
