ARROW: Don't Expect Harley Quinn To Appear Again

At the Long Beach Comics Expo, Arrow showrunner Marc Guggenheim stated that the easter egg in Season 2 is as close as the show will ever get to using the Joker's main squeeze.

If you were hoping that Harley Quinn would be showing up in Arrow s03e17 "Suicidal Tendencies", you'll be disappointed.  Arrow executive producer has confirmed [via Comic Book Resources] that the show won't be allowed to use Dr. Harleen Frances Quinzel again due to David Ayers' Suicide Squad and Fox's Gotham.  The "wink and nod" in season 2 is as close as Arrow will ever come to using the character.  Perhaps the reason Michael Jai-White's  Bronze Tiger is not returning this season on Arrow is because the character will also appear in Ayer's film?  It's also interesting that Guggenheim mentions Gotham as a reason for exclusion as that show's producers said that the character would not be showing up in season one.  Perhaps a pre-teen Harley will show up in season two?

Arrow returns with all new episodes, March 18th at 8PM on The CW.

Yes @Vegeta because having HARLEY QUINN IN A GREEN ARROW SHOW makes perfect sense to begin with.

Arrow has became really shitty. Nice to know that was Harley which means Batman exists in this Arrowverse.

Vegeta nailed it. the whole time DCs been preaching about how much easier it is to keep it separate and how free they are to do what they want and not be tied down to connecting everything.

Yes! Don't taint the characters with cameos is what I say. Arrow fell off the rails for me as well, but The Flash is great.

They should never cross over the DCCU and the shitty Arrowverse. I have a quote from a recent post of mine, where I explain why they should not connect them, since Vegeta brought it up.

Also, what benefit would it have? Most people who do watch Arrow and Flash probably will watch the big cbm's anyway. And AoS's ratings have proved simply being connected to the main universe doesn't bring in a shit ton of people. It wouldn't make sense from a continiuty standpoint, as both would have to go through a huge proccess to keep continiuty. Also, the shows in the Arrowverse focus on IMPORTANT JL members. Their actions and shows greatly impact the world of JL. Part of what makes AoS work so well (continiuty wise that is), is that it doesn't LARGELY effect the MCU majorly. They deal with the fallout of the MCU big events, not the other way around.

Just wanted to put it out there. Tired of hearing how the Arrowverse and DCCU should connect.

Flash and Arrow are using so many major characters, and these versions may not fit in with the versions people like MacLaren, Snyder or Ayer want. It just doesn't make sense to connect them through a continiuty standpoint, or an economic one.

Her appearances on Arrow were very enjoyable for me.

For a while... I felt like the Joker, viewing the back of Harley's head.

No, I'm advocating against nonsense.

Because not having Harley Quinn back on Arrow is so terrible. They could have done so much with Harley due to the fact she's so involved in Green Arrow's world.

What are they gonna do now with no Harley? It's not like they could I don't know, use actual Green Arrow rogues.

I don't care if Harley shows up again, but I hate how the Suicide Squad movie could be potentially screwing it up to see a good version of them on the tv show. Could be why they might not be using Captain Boomerang for the next episode with the Squad, despite the fact he is in an Argus prison.

Good. As fun as it was, Arrow is riding too much on Batman's coattails; I was initially open to the whole Ra's Al Ghul inclusion initially, but frankly due to an underwhelming casting addition and over-gratification of Oliver's skills, I'm really starting to not like the show any more... Just happy The Flash is sharp on point.

@LEVITIKUZ I always saw it as a proto-suicide squad that would eventually expand and improve, and I was looking forward to it doing that, but it looks like it won't be. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying the Arrow Suicide Squad is great, more like disappointing. I just think it sucks, assuming that WB is restricting them because of the movie, that the squad will probably never get any better on tv.

That sucks, I love Harley Quinn. Would have been great if she actually showed up in Arrow, which is the best thing DC has going on TV. (Yes, The Flash is absolutely fantastic but Arrow has been quality for multiple years now.)

Pretty disappointing but expected. Hope the Suicide Squad movie doesn't suck. Also, not a Gotham fan. Meaning I've never watched and have no plans to. Too many shows to keep up with already and from what I've read about it, it sounds pretty mediocre.

"that the show won't be allowed"

Only Warner Bros. would shoot themselves in the foot like this.

>Has all rights to DC characters
>Restricts which characters can be used.

Genius.

Harley wasn't that great on Arrow to begin with. Why waist your time with here when you can incorporate other characters who haven't gotten the spotlight yet?

And I agree, Arrow season 3 has been so awful lately. Before I'd try to pretend like they weren't turning it into a show about Batman without Batman (more so than Gotham, oddly). But now they have it where Ra's wants Ollie to be the head of the demon...I mean seriously.
