Henry Cavill Says No Superman In SUICIDE SQUAD, But Could We See Him In A Potential Sequel?
DC Comics has two big movies on the way with Batman v. Superman: DOJ and Suicide Squad. We already know Ben Affleck's Batman will show up in both, but what about Henry Cavill's Superman? Well, it sounds like he might show up sooner or later. Come check it out!
"Oh, I'm not gonna kill ya, I'm just gonna hurt ya... really, really, bad!"
Thanks to a variety of set photos and unconfirmed reports, it should be common knowledge by now that Ben Affleck (Good Will Hunting) will make at least some sort of cameo as Bruce Wayne/Batman in David Ayer's Suicide Squad, whether that cameo is limited to flashbacks or extends to present day is yet-to-be seen.
Outside of being a cool move, Affleck's cameo is also the first confirmed link between Batman v. Superman: Dawn Of Justice and Suicide Squad, which are both set to open up the long-awaited DC Extended Cinematic Universe next year. Now, with Batman involved, it's natural to start wondering about whether or not Superman will be involved as well.
In a recent interview with Metro.co.uk, star Henry Cavill (The Man From U.N.C.L.E.) was asked about whether or not fans might see him show up in Suicide Squad, an inquiry he answered with a solid (and unsurprising) "No." However, when asked about possibly showing up in a potential Suicide Squad sequel, Cavill was a little more optimistic: "I might be!"
Now, this isn't any indicator that Cavill will definitely show up in a sequel, but considering the fact that he probably already has a contract extending for multiple films in place, this news shouldn't exactly be discarded. There's also a strong possibility he's already spoken to DC/WB about appearing in other non-Superman or Justice League DCEU films.
