Henry Cavill Says No Superman In SUICIDE SQUAD, But Could We See Him In A Potential Sequel?

DC Comics has two big movies on the way with Batman v. Superman: DOJ and Suicide Squad. We already know Ben Affleck's Batman will show up in both, but what about Henry Cavill's Superman? Well, it sounds like he might show up sooner or later. Come check it out!

"Oh, I'm not gonna kill ya, I'm just gonna hurt ya... really, really, bad!"

Thanks to a variety of set photos and unconfirmed reports, it should be common knowledge by now that Ben Affleck (Good Will Hunting) will make at least some sort of cameo as Bruce Wayne/Batman in David Ayer's Suicide Squad, whether that cameo is limited to flashbacks or extends to present day is yet-to-be seen.

Outside of being a cool move, Affleck's cameo is also the first confirmed link between Batman v. Superman: Dawn Of Justice and Suicide Squad, which are both set to open up the long-awaited DC Extended Cinematic Universe next year. Now, with Batman involved, it's natural to start wondering about whether or not Superman will be involved as well.

In a recent interview with Metro.co.uk, star Henry Cavill (The Man From U.N.C.L.E.) was asked about whether or not fans might see him show up in Suicide Squad, an inquiry he answered with a solid (and unsurprising) "No." However, when asked about possibly showing up in a potential Suicide Squad sequel, Cavill was a little more optimistic: "I might be!"

Now, this isn't any indicator that Cavill will definitely show up in a sequel, but considering the fact that he probably already has a contract extending for multiple films in place, this news shouldn't exactly be discarded. There's also a strong possibility he's already spoken to DC/WB about appearing in other non-Superman or Justice League DCEU films.

Anyways, what do you guys think? Sound off with your thoughts below!

He doesn't need to be in Suicide Squad anyway, that film has enough going on to be its own thing.

But I am very much up for a Man of Steel sequel, directed by either Miller or Snyder (or anyone else that could do it justice, I'm sure there are others).

Yeah, there's honestly no point in seeing the guy crammed into Suicide Squad. Batman was already more than enough but it works for him seeing that most of these villains tie into his city. It helps create more background depth of how they all came to be where they are.

The good thing is that Cavill isn't getting too old, he's got all the time in the world to do MOS2. As for Affleck they might have to get a stunt double (which they already have in BvS) for some heavy action scenery if he's actually set to be part of a new trilogy of Batman films. I just wonder if they'll go the route of doing a Batman Beyond movie once most of he current Justice League business comes to a stop.

If George Miller directs MOS 2....

Then Affleck directing Batman....

And the Russos doing Infinity Wars 1 and 2....

And Snyder with Terrio doing Justice League 1 and 2....

And then Watts directing MCU Spidey with Vacation writers....

Don't particularly want to see Superman in a Suicide Squad movie. Would they bump a movie to make room for a Suicide Squad sequel?

Let's get Man of Steel 2 before any cameos or appearances in other DCEU films. How about that....

@VisualMaximus

3 movies in a year won't be surprising, WB makes tons of movie per year they can always cancel/reschedule their non-DC movies for DC movies.

You are complaining about DC putting every character in every movie on an article about DC not putting a character in a movie...

Suicide Squad sequel? We don't even know how the first one will do. I'd be interested in seeing the Suicide Squad against Superman at some point though, just to watch them run for it. Minus Enchantress, that team has no way of even threatening the Man of Steel. Of course, after the first movie, maybe they'd be able to throw a more powerful character on the team, but generally, in the comics, the SS characters are Aquaman-class and under.

Yeah I saw Cop Car yesterday after seeing Straight Outta Compton twice....

Cop Car was surprisingly good, Kevin Bacon was awesome. So yes....Spider Man DOES have a good director...

But writers who apparently make shit movie scripts.......😒

George Miller doing MOS 2 would be so awesome. Seeing good directors take on CBMs is always pleasing
