SUICIDE SQUAD KILL THE JUSTICE LEAGUE Trailer Reveals The Late Kevin Conroy's Final Batman Performance

A new trailer for Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League was released during The Game Awards yesterday evening (via GameFragger.com), and it ends with a huge, albeit touching, reveal.

Yes, the late Kevin Conroy did indeed lend his voice to Batman one final time before his recent death, meaning this video game will mark his last performance as the Caped Crusader. With Rocksteady, the team behind the Arkham series of games, developing this Suicide Squad title, we've been hoping they might have enlisted the actor to play Bruce Wayne again.

Conroy sadly passed away on November 10 following a short battle with cancer, but was clearly able to record his lines prior to becoming too unwell.

The teaser opens with Task Force X interrogating The Flash before Batman arrives and takes out a number of goons and sets his sights on Harley Quinn and company.

The lights go out and Rocksteady then pays tribute to the late Batman actor.

"The creators of the Batman: Arkham series are back with a brand new action-adventure shooter," reads a synopsis for the game. "The most dangerous villains in the DC Universe have been forced to team up and take on a new mission: Kill the Justice League. Create Chaos in Metropolis. You are the Suicide Squad."

Those villains will be Harley Quinn, Deadshot, Captain Boomerang, and King Shark, and we're excited to get hands-on with this one. The game was supposed to be released this year, but ended up being pushed into 2023 after various delays. That's a shame, though is also the right move if it ensures Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League is as good as it can possibly be.

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League arrives in stores on May 26, 2023.

That sure looks like Arkham Knight Batman.

Anyway, great to see (hear, I guess?) we get Kevin Conroy as Batman one more time. Dude really is THE voice of Batman for me.

Also, didn't knew Harley knew Bruce's name.

What a better way to honor the legendary Kevin Conroy than using his words right after showing a villainized Batman killing people.

The Justice League being the villains and Harley Quinn saves the day, what a [frick]ing joke. We get this before a Superman, or Green Lantern, or Justice League Dark videogame.

@MaxPaint - you doubt Rocksteady? Blaspehmy!

@bobevanz - You did play Arkham Knight right? Now that's a true blasphemy.

I jumped up as soon as I heard 'I am vengeance' and went 'is that Kevin Conroy ?!'

I was already hyped for this one, that was just icing on the cake

This is gonna sell like hotcakes, I teared up. Let me move on! Lol I'm definitely getting the collectors edition, I skipped the Gotham Knights one because the game sucks. It had a Pretty sweet diorama

I've been on the fence about this game with everything I've seen so far (a lot of that is because I can't tell if it's meant to be connected to the Arkham games or it's own thing) but knowing this features Kevin Conroy's last performance as Batman is enough to convince me to pick it up

@AC1 - it is connected to the arkham games. They even addressed the inconsistency of this dead shot being a different race than his other appearances in the series, saying that was a guy using his alias.

@Origame - oh that's interesting, I didn't realise that!

Just to ask, IS this set in the Arkham-verse or not? I only ask as (to be frank) Deadshot seems to have completely changed race. Also, Batman's dead (or so we were led to believe), or this could be pre-AK. I know DC aren't really big on continuity overall, but is there a definitive answer?

@CLTMAN29 - I think it is and they're going with the Deadshot in the Arkham games being an imposter

@bkmeijer1 - I suppose at retcon's go...that's not awful. Makes all that detective work Batman did pretty shitty though haha

That was such a confusing watch haha.

I love Kevin's Batman but it's not enough to get me interested in a Suicide Squad game. DC keeps trying to make the mainstream audience care about the Suicide Squad and don't think it's ever going to happen.

I did have to check who's voicing Harley. It is Tara Strong but for a second i wondered if Arleen Sorkin was back. Maybe since Tara sounds a little older. They both do a great job.

@TheManWithoutFear - wasn't sure about Harley VA either. Figured it was Strong, but only really because she does the voice in pretty much every adaptation now.

@TheManWithoutFear - So that was Tara, I was wondering. She didn't sound right to me, like I actually cringed when she spoke. I've never done that before with her performances so I was very confused.

So the Flash loses a finger in a scene played for laughs and Batman kills people?! WTF is this game that actually really turned me off.

@WarMonkey - yep definitely some confusion to be had.

@WarMonkey - I was waiting for the finger joke payoff and finally thought "wait, that's it?"

@WarMonkey - I don't know I thought it was funny. I would be impressed if the game lives up to its name and actually kills the Justice League, but I don't think they've got the balls for it.
