UPDATE: David Ayer's SUICIDE SQUAD Sets A New Monday And Tuesday Box Office Record

David Ayer and Warner Bros.' Suicide Squad sailed past another box office record on Monday and Tuesday, though things may not look bright for the DC supervillain film when the weekend rolls around...

After shrugging off negative reviews and pulling in $133 million domestically and $267 million worldwide this weekend, Suicide Squad continued its box office takeover on Monday, earning another $13.1 million while sailing past previous record holder, Guardians of the Galaxy ($11.7 million), according to Box Office Mojo. The film also beat out Captain America: Civil War, Age Of Ultron, and Batman v Superman on Tuesday, earning $14.2 million.

While things have been going very well for Suicide Squad so far (Warner Bros. recently expressed their happiness for the film's success), estimates for the coming weekend predict the film will take in approximately $51-54 million domestically. If those estimates hold up, it would mean a 61% drop from the movie's opening weekend. While not as bad as Batman v Superman's 71% decline, this still doesn't bode well for Squad's financial longevity in theatres.

Will you be seeing Suicide Squad again? Sound off below!

It feels good to be bad… Assemble a team of the world’s most dangerous, incarcerated Super Villains, provide them with the most powerful arsenal at the government’s disposal, and send them off on a mission to defeat an enigmatic, insuperable entity. U.S. intelligence officer Amanda Waller has determined only a secretly convened group of disparate, despicable individuals with next to nothing to lose will do. However, once they realize they weren’t picked to succeed but chosen for their patent culpability when they inevitably fail, will the Suicide Squad resolve to die trying, or decide it’s every man for himself?

I had it circled on my schedule for months so was going to watch it regardless of critics; gotta admit it did become annoying as it was just vicious. But watched last night and it was good, not phenomenal, not horrible, not end of the world, neither the beginning: it was just a good fun movie. I enjoyed it like Guardians of the Galaxy to be honest, it was silly and funny and just a good time. Not every comic book movie needs to be a home run ya know. Could it be better? For sure! Was it bad? Hell no!
