good score, but I'm preferring his Dark Knight Trilogy score over this one. Guess I'm more of "cynical" type of guy :)

if you can spot the inspiration from the old superman music, you get a star. i can :). can you get all 3 similarities?

Score was phenomenal. Anyone who thinks it lacked a 'main theme' needs to listen to "What Will You Do When You're Not Saving The World?" again....and holy shit, the battle theme ("Arcade") was insanely epic. I came away whistling it.

@FreedomFreeLife - I don't remember the music to any of those movies. At least Raimi's Spider-Man had Danny Elfman, that was way more memorable.

Fantastic score. One of the best of all time.

Notice how those saying otherwise are Marvel fans. They're definitely jealous no Marvel film has a score or theme a tenth as good as this.

Hans Zimmer's Man of Steel score was outstanding, a way more sophisticated piece than the usual routine of main theme march repeated in various arrangements plus love theme. The piece that plays at the end Johnathan Kent scene and into the credits is the nail-on-the-head piece, it literally smacks it out of the ball park!

I'm going to have to agree with FreedomFreeLife on this one. Avengers and The Amazing Spider-Man had memorable scores. The Amazing Spider-Man being the most memorable since John Williams Superman score. Simply put, I love Danny Elfmans work but he and Hans Zimmer has yet to create a score that stuck with me after I left the theater.
FreedomFreeLife
FreedomFreeLife - 6/26/2013, 12:42 PM
Wait, there was music in Man of Steel? Not even memorable.
I still remember lots of music from Avengers and from TASM.
FreedomFreeLife
FreedomFreeLife - 6/26/2013, 12:43 PM
Score does not only mean main theme, but music itself in movie!!!!
MOS main theme was so quiet, only last 30 sec was high, but still, its BAD
exe
exe - 6/26/2013, 12:43 PM
@FreedomFreeLife, you fool. Clearly you don't know music or have bad taste. The Avengers there had a good main score, but that's it. Just "good" or "average". Iron Turd 3 and ASM both have nonexistent themes. Utterly forgettable. Plain as shit. They didn't even bother.

MOS score is epic and Zimmer is just boss.

Supes hasn't earned his main theme yet. So in tradition, accdg to Hans, just like TDK trilogy, he will get his in the sequel.

The Amazing Spider-Man has quite possibly the worst score of all time.

Its down there for sure. Original Spider-Man beats it by miles.

James Horner Vs. Danny Elfman? GTFO TASM fans

It sounds like the music you hear when astronauts reach space for the first time.

Nothing like how Spider-Man should sound at all.

Also, its generic as [frick]. It's a regular boring rising in level theme. That's all it is.
thewonderer
thewonderer - 6/26/2013, 12:57 PM
You're telling me its better than this?

This one has layers of depth. It changes in level. It's not just uplifting. It gets tense, it gets passionate, you can feel the constant differing struggles of Spidey through it.

FreedomFreeLife
FreedomFreeLife - 6/26/2013, 12:59 PM
@thewonderer
You are [frick]ing idiot. Score means music in [frick]ing movie, not just a main theme. There was nothing else than just a main theme in older spider-man.

Again, MOS did not have any music.
DavieboyW
DavieboyW - 6/26/2013, 1:01 PM
Got to be one of the most inaccurate headlines ever!

To say that 'there is no denying how impressive the score is' seems to be ignoring the large numbs of us who find it to be bland, generic action scoring with very little heart or identity.

Everyone entitled to their opinion, but not quite right to think its universally appreciated when its probably the most divisive score in many years.
Jacad
Jacad - 6/26/2013, 1:08 PM
@FreedomFreeLife

I loved Horner's score for TASM as well, but even I have to admit that Elfman's music was a better fit for Spidey.

@FreedomFreeLife - Nobody (except you) remember the music to any of those movies.

For other side, MoS sountrack is awesome!! Hanz Zimmer create a new score for the legendary Superman, just like John Willians did thirty years ago.
