Armie Hammer, who at one point was attached to DC's now-delayed
Justice League film, recently chatted with
Vulture's Kyle Buchanan, discussing his current role in David Fincher's
The Social Network. And Kyle managed to slip in a question, regarding whether Hammer, whose also considered a fan-favorite, would be keen on donning the 'S' on his chest in Zack Snyder's reboot of
The Man of Steel. And in his reply, despite reports of Snyder stating the film would focus on his younger days, Hammer says:
"[Laughs.] You know what's funny? I did talk to my people recently about [the role] for the first time, and I think they're going a little older with Superman. I hear they're going 35, 40..."
Kyle promptly made Hammer aware of Jon Hamm, 39, who verbally showed interest in portraying Clark Kent in the reboot. And,
"Yeah, I don't know what that might mean," is all Hammer had to say. Jon Hamm is also considered a fan-favorite, if the studio were to go in the "older" direction. And with what Armie Hammer is claiming today, the
Mad Men star may just get the chance to don the 'S' on his chest. What do you think?
Head over to
Vulture, where Hammer also shares recent thoughts on the
Justice League film. And the Zack Snyder-directed
Superman: Man of Steel is targeted for release Winter 2012.
