Superman Returns(Bryan Singer) was so awful they had to get The Dark Knight & Batman Begins(Chris Nolan) to give the Man of Steel his good name back
Dynamo
Dynamo - 9/23/2010, 6:07 PM
Matt Reeves is proabably the most likely. His upcoming slate is the emptiest.

@Dynamo
So Matt Reeves directed Cloverfield? Then he is my choice on that list, yeah I enjoyed Cloverfield.

i hope its not Tony Scott his film are all the same style.

Zach Snyder should do Lobo ;)

how Jonathan Liebesman got on the short list we have not seen this brand new movie yet Battle: Los Angeles. also his been chosen to direct Clash of the Titans 2 not sure he got enough time to do a Superman movie.

best choices for the Superman reboot are Matt Reeves and Duncan Jones.

I love this reboot. It'll be great to see Superman with some likely amazing visuals, an actor that atleast does a Christian Bale job, and a director who can make me believe a man can fly...again.
My choice is in between John Liebesman and Duncan Jones.

Snyder probably has lots to do, and for me he is out of the question a bad idea.

I love how people just love to slam Returns, and say how "awful" it was. This must be one of those Michael Bay bitches that just goes and sees a movie for all the pretty explosions.

Moon is an amazing movie! i would give this to James Cameron and for the action scenes to Michael Bay LOL!!!
Seriously i would go with the less experience one because those guys know what the fans wants!

This is so weird...it was only a couple of days ago that I suggested that someone like Duncan Jones would be the perfect choice to direct this! He'd definitely be my #1 pick out of all these because Moon is one of my all time favourite movies! Won't Tony Scott be a bit busy with Nemesis!? Kind of strange that he's up there...not a huge fan of the rest really. Snyder is a great director but not well suited to a character like Superman IMO.

Tony Scott won't do it, he is already committed to Millar's Nemesis

@Dynamo I saw Moon and I loved it, he manages to make a sci-fi movie that features Just one actor and the voice of other intriguing and deep IMO, I just loved it.
So my vote, not that it matters, but goes for Duncan Jones.
I was expecting to see James Mctiegue on that list, he is still my pick.

I'm going for Lieberman i like his style of Directing, plus he did a movie with Aarong Eckhart which might be enough to get him a good name with Nolan, i really want this movie to be amazing

At least half of these directors will be busy. So somethings either gonna be pushed back or they're out of the running.

I'd have to say Matt Reeves, even though I want him to do a Cloverfield sequel some time soon.

Duncan Jones! Moon was awesome, but being David Bowie's son is credential enough..

I'm disapointed Paul Thomas Anderson isn't on the list. His schedule is clear since they put Master on hold. Paul is a great director and has been nomanted for best director and writter numerous times and is one of the best filmmaker's working in the business. There Will Be Blood, Magnolia, Boogie Nights, and Punch Drunk Love are all great and would love to see what he brought to a superhero movie, espically a hero as great as Superman.

Of the directors on this list, the only one I'm impressed with is Duncan Jones. Moon was incredible, one of my favroites and he shows a lot of potential and would show guts putting him in the directors chair. He has talent and Moon was again just great. I'd be happy if Duncan was the director and have high hopes.

Tony Scott isn't that good of a director, Matt Reeves would be better for Wolverine 2 or Namor, and Zack Synder needs to move away from superheroes, he shouldn't do one genre of films.

Duncan Jones FTW! I didn't like Cloverfield, so not Reeves (although he would have a fitting last name, hehe).

Im glad that there are some phenomenal directors up there with some pretty impressive credentials but the thing we should all be stoked about...

CHRISTOPHER NOLAN IS MAKING THE DECISION!!!

Ugh...after what Singer did, any of these guys will be fine in my opinion. But to be honest, I'm at the breaking point now...for some reason the studio just can't ever seem to make an epic action-packed Superman film.

not reeves, duncan. srry about that. found out snyder said no, and so did del torro. everybody else is too busy. so therefore duncan jones is gonna be the director

My vote would be for Tony Scott. If not him, then Zack Snyder. I just hope they just do it properly. Superman: Returns was a very boring movie. Had a couple of good points but overall blew chunks. He never once threw a punch... WTF!
