Surely not?

You know how you can tell they hit a home run with the costume??? It doesn't look cheesy in real life. That's a candid behind the scenes shot. No treatment or special lighting. Compare it to....I dunno.... say.. this?

I'm just saying.. in candids.. the Cap costume and the Thor one look like they came from a Halloween store. A high end Halloween store I'll admit. But They don't look nearly as impressive off the big screen. That Superman costume looks real world. If I saw Cavill on the street wearing that ... I'd wonder for a sec if I was going crazy or if Superman was real.
Giznad
Giznad - 5/21/2013, 3:28 AM
So many people bring down that Cap costume because of the cheese factor. It was implied Agent Coulson was a fanboy and "hand a hand in" on the design. Rogers said to him, "Aren't the star and stripes a little...?". I think Rogers implied the suit was cheesy and old fashioned. Agent Coulson thought people may need a little cheese. But, that being said, his boyish look in the set photos makes it look sillier. Sorry. Supes' costume rocks btw.

Yeah, the costume looks great. Although it does look a bit "touched up" where the color is concerned. I especially like the absence of the red undies on the outside.

And to be fair to Cap, that suit looked way better on film than it did in the BTS candids.

Has no one noticed that the kryptonian sun in that last pic is YELLOW!?!

@ kryptonianAbom. Actually the cap suit is not conducive for several reasons
- the white on the arms is on the inside - which i believe was meant to emphasize the biceps, but instead reduces the entire arm size
- the padding is so blatant (body Armour seriously - shud of gone 4 dragon scales) it begs the question of what joss was thinking
- the helmet/head/neck looks much worse, because chris evans has a weak chin (well 2bh not enuf 2 offset the head piece) & the first film costume was better for the chin strap against (the skin tone of) his exposed neck
NeoBaggins
NeoBaggins - 5/21/2013, 4:22 AM
@R888 I kinda did, which makes me feel semi-assholish. Yesterday at work, I asked her if she was off on Thursdays. She was like why, and I told her how the cashier at Walmart was all like "Just one, no date?". Can't remember if I mentioned the day and time. If I did, she musta thought "He forgot about my graduation".

Maybe there's an after thing. I'm not missing the movie. lol Sorry.

I'll see this movie, but I think Cavill is too big & bulky for the role. They could have CGI'd him to look smaller, tooled the suit differently...they should have done something. I've always had this question, if Kal-El gains his powers from yellow sunlight alone, how does his body build the massive physique of a contestant of the Mr. Universe Body Building Competition? He's been on Earth since he was 3-4 years old. I don't remember reading or hearing about him consuming supplements. Protein shakes? Egg whites? He's a pig. He eats whatever he wants and gains no weight. He's not Bruce Wayne. He's not human. In Superman: The Movie, Chris Reeve didn't look like he was about to pop from 'juicing up' and he shattered mirrors by thumping peanuts at it. I know Superman Returns wasn't exactly what we wanted, but Brandon Routh wasn't over fed, and he stopped a Boeing 777 from destroying itself into the ball field. Isn't Kal-El/Clark Kent supposed to be unassuming? I mean, hell, he hides behind a pair of glasses and a spit curl!

hes not mr universe lets get that straight. not even close dude

hes an alien in a movie so giving him realistic comparisons to humans in the real world is just dumb. its fake. you can say its genetics. maybe being a kryptonian living on earth will just make you bulky idk its fake. chris reeves character back then was considered pretty big tho. obviously not cavill big but still. superman is depicted all the time as being very muscular...i dont see the problem. just because routh and reeve(compared to today) werent?

@Cwood Superman's powers did not come all together at once, they started coming along in his teenagehood, so he had to work in the farm with his chores, and yes theta are viva about Clark Kent's journey before getting to be Superman where they say we went through phisical training and martial arts training, y Dont u try to get and read Superman the odissey?
