And now Superman has something to work towards and learn from, Batman v Superman is going to be amazing and it will make sense because of Man of Steel.

Plus, Zod is definitely powerful enough to kill 5,000 humans, and he had all of the correct motives to do so, his last speech was amazing and you actually felt for him.

The DCEU is going to rock, looking forward to the MCU, but I'm really starting to get tired of their formula

Yeah, I give a lot of respect to Snyder for sticking to his guns and moving forward with everything he gave us in Man of Steel.

I watched Man of Steel again the other day, and it's [frick]ing awesome. I don't care what anybody says....

The critics and the reviews were also extremely biased, and talked about the Donner movies, and who they felt Superman should be constantly, instead of talking about what the movie was.... Snyder took inspiration from the comics, and I give him a lot of credit, and I can only imagine how amazing characters like Brainiac, Batman, Lex Luthor, etc are going to feel in that universe, can't [frick]ing wait!

I found this the other day and though it was cool, I'm sure it's been posted here before, but RT was really biased with their reviews

Grae Drake, editor of Rotten Tomatoes, expressed dismay over the critical reception, stating, "As much as I love and respect our critics at Rotten Tomatoes, I've got to say I am shocked. Listen, the movie’s not perfect but ... I just cannot fathom it. It was a good movie, you guys."

I still feel Man of Steel is bad from a script perceptive.

The story and script was terrible with little to no character development, forced romance between Lois and Clark, and full of exposition.

Cast is fine but the script sucks.

Also it never felt like a Snyder film. Not a negative of the film but Batman V Superman feels like a Snyder film. Man of Steel feels like Snyder trying to be Nolan in terms of the cinematography.

Not a negative like the scirpt though. Thank God for Affleck to involved Chris Terrio.

Rottern Tomatoes isn't biased since it gives off no opinion.

Rottern Tomatoes is a collection of reviews done by people and calacuates the average score the film got from reviews.

It isn't someone saying "this film is good, this film sucks".

@Jeight

The fact that Superman can't just let Zod take the codex and flee with his ships to terraform another planet into Krypton really baffles me.

This really isn't a problem since Zod is evil. It's like saying why didn't Loki invade another planet besides Earth?

Besides when you think of it, Zod's creating a world where he could appear to be this world's God. He gave life back to this world and everyone has him to thank. That's not a comforting thought.

There's one missing. In the 1950's series, he flies a crook to the top of a mountain and then chases him over a cliff and lets him fall to his death.

I see great films on RT with the worst ratings, so I would never trust RT to pick what I watch. Movie 43. Natural Born Killers. Rob Zombie's Halloween. The Invention of Lying. Wet Hot American Summer. I feel like people actively try and tank movie scores on there when something personally offends them.

I hate that Superman has to 'learn' his no-killing rule.

I have a no-killing rule, and I didn't have to snap anyone's neck to learn it. I have that rule because I was raised well, as so was Clark.

MOS script was not so different than some random superhero movie.Thor 2,very bad movie with stupid jokes,also forced romance,and one dimensional Malekith who wanted darkness just because he is evil.Very simple script and yet have better ratings than MOS,like WTF?? first Cap was also bad,Hulk movies too.And still MOS is getting so much hate.I think that some people see logo MARVEL and they are like "programmed" to say it's Marvel so its amazing.And they are closing eyes for disadvantages,and nitpicking for everything in DC movies.

Totally man, RT is such horseshit

And, Superman Returns got a better score than MOS, that's blasphemy, complete nonsense

If RT was around in 1982 Blade Runner would be stuck at 50% or less.

No bias, it's just dumb...

@Indoorsman So many people are saying some bad shit like he liked killing Zod.

And this is not the first time he killed someone.In Superamn II he killed Zod too,and still people are hypocrites and behaving like he did something new in MOS....

In MOS he was not yet a Superman that we know in comics,he is still evolves to be the hero we deserve.But before that,he will face a lot of things.

His father said in MOS:

"You will give the people of Earth an ideal to strive towards. They will race behind you, they will stumble, they will fall. But IN TIME, they will join you in the sun, Kal. In TIME, you will help them accomplish wonders."

So glad someone made this so people can stop bitching about Man of Steel. Not to mention that Superman killed Kryptonian criminals, slowly with Kryptonite in the comics. And yes lots of people died in MoS but more would've had he spent his time trying to save people as opposed to stopping Zod. Zod would've gone from city to city destroying everything in sight in retaliation for trapping his comrades in the phantom zone and destroying any chance of restarting Kryptoninan society. What about all the people that died in Gotham when Bane set off the bomb, or the people that didn't make it during the riots in the narrows in Begins?

I enjoyed MOS. Sure it had flaws. I wish there was more casual dialogue between charaters to build chemistry. The thing with Nolan influenced films is that every word spoken is vital to the story in someway, so you have to pay attention, and after awhile you wish the characters would just relax and talk. Its okay to serve the characters sometimes and let the plot take a breather. Marvel has been very successful in letting their characters interact and talk for the sake of building chemistry. Heck it's the best part of the Avengers movies.

What I liked about MOS alot was that they set the bar for Superman's power levels. There's no fun way to showcase Superman's true power without mass destruction. Superman beating on Zod in the middle of a desert or space doesn't sound the least bit exciting or even serve the story... this way Superman and the audience know that if he is left unchecked he can essentially obliterate the planet, thus leading us towards a Batman showdown. I say it all the time... Superman has to know what he's capable of before he can exercise restraint. The casaulties of MOS should directly influence the evolution of Superman, and I hope Snyder and Terrio don't forget to address it as so.

Now in the future when Superman faces off with formidable foes, we'll all reflect back on MOS, and we'll be waiting for him to unleash with giddy excitement.

Everyone gives such high praise to the animated cartoons and movies, and they have repeatedly destroyed cities and planets in those...

@Jeight,

You want a taco. There's a taco bell right in front of you and another one across town. Which taco bell do you go into?

Now you know why Zod was going to terraform Earth. That and he hated humans and the "heretical" Kal-El.

Convenience and spite. Thats the reasons.

This is kind of lame since most of these are not Superman killing anyone. That stated, while I think that the Donner films portray Superman as a hero more willing to save people than in Snyder's Man of Steel...there is a hidden exception that NO ONE EVER remembers. During the scene in Superman the Movie when Superman is drowning with the Krypton rock on around his neck...Ms Eve Teschmacher asks Superman to save her mother first...what no one ever remembers is that Superman was not initially going to do that...he responded "but Lois and Jimmy?" This is significant because Hackensack, New Jersey (home of Ms. Teschmacher's mother) is a populated area of at the time about 36,000 people...the San Andres fault line where the second missile was heading is not, but rather in the middle of the dessert...so it calls in to question Superman's priorities as he was going to allow the loss of thousands of lives...just to save Lois and Jimmy.

Ms. Teschmacher saved the lives of thousands...and no one gives her any credit!

@Jeight

1) Superman never learned where the codex was. So he couldn't have just let Zod take the codex. More importantly, Jor-el didn't tell Clark about it, and Zod had no interest in leaving Earth.

2) http://www.manofsteelanswers.com/man-of-steel-myths-zod-should-have-terraformed-mars/#more-679 You are assuming that the World Engines could work on any world. Consider that Zod only found one World Engine, while thousands of scout ships were launched. That tells you that the scout ships were scouting out potentially habitable worlds, not all of which they found.

3) Zod was genetically programmed NOT to have a moral calculus. Faora says as much, so saving his people was a purely utilitarian argument. He would do what was necessary, including killing people. Does that make him less bad? No, but it does constrain his basket of choices.

4) Superman has never really had a firm no killing rule like Batman. He's shown great reluctance (which MoS displayed), but the sheer volume of cases of Superman causing or allowing death rules that out. And it takes a lot more power NOT to kill than to kill, which is why with Zod he did not have a choice.

5) Man of Steel's biggest issues are its nonlinear format, weak Daily Planet cast, and Goyer's subpar dialogue.

@Jeight yeah he was angry because he lost his people because of Superman,or you are talking what was before that? well he wanted to change Earth ino the Krypton because he was already on Earth,and he dont cared about human race,for him we was like ants.Faora showed too that they think they are superior.

Think about us,about human race,we could do the same thing,we could destroy another specie just that we can survive.Look how indians were treated.For Zod killing us would be like we are killing flies,just nothing.
