Superman: Man of Tomorrow will be available on Digital from August 23 before hitting 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray Combo Pack & Blu-ray Combo Pack on September 8, and the first clip from DC's latest animated adventure is now online (via IGN).

Here we see Clark Kent (Darren Criss) put together a (very) early attempt at his iconic Superman costume as a news report heralds the imminent arrival of an unidentified object hurtling towards Earth.

The Man of Steel flies out to meet the mysterious invader, only to discover that it's The Main Man himself, Lobo (Brett Dalton).

Daily Planet intern Clark Kent takes learning-on-the-job to new extremes when Lobo and Parasite set their sights on Metropolis in Superman: Man of Tomorrow, available later in summer 2020 on Digital, 4K, Blu-ray & DVD. Produced by Warner Bros. Animation, DC and Warner Bros. Home Entertainment, Superman: Man of Tomorrow is the 41st film in the popular series of DC Universe Movies.

Superman: Man of Tomorrow also features Zachary Quinto as Lex Luthor, Alexandra Daddario as Lois Lane, Ryan Hurst as Parasite, and Ike Amadi as Martian Manhunter.

Lobo is such a weird choice for a pre superman story.

@BlackBeltJones - Getting distinct animation styles for each animated film >>>>>>>>> the same, stiff, emotionless faux-anime style for 20+ movies

Now THIS looks like a god damn Superman movie I wanna watch.
Also, it's nice to have the distinctive animation back: thick outlines, art-deco-y backgrounds, soft color palette 👌
such a nice break from the "anime but worst" approach of the New 52 era.

I'm really digging the animation style. If this is a success I'm sure DC will ram it down our throats and we'll get sick of it soon enough but it's still looking really fresh.

Can't wait for this, finally a proper version of Superman

@Blergh - Well hopefully they just take away the value of variation in animation styles, especially for movies requiring different tones, rather than sticking to any one new formula.

Lobo is my least favorite DC character.

I'm totally getting Archer vibes form the animation style, even while in motion, but at least its smoother then the TV series. Might give it a try.

@patgreyc - That's exactly what came to my mind when I watched the animation for the first time. Some of it's pretty smooth and some's a little clunky like when he was walking away in one of the above clips.
