I'm sorry but this is a cut and pasted article.

The old Fleischer cartoons are beautiful to look at. The animation is so fluid and well done, it almost comes off as if if it were rotoscoped. It's too bad the story lines are paper thin and completely racist....

Now, instead of another reboot
why dont Chris Nolan and Zach Snyder make their own Justice League series?

@Welldrawn- yeah, those old WWII era Fleischer toons rocked. All they had to do was send him to Japan on a sight seeing tour and all hell broke loose. The Japanese didn't stand a chance!

Wow, I remember most of those cartoons from back in the 70's and early 80's. What a different world we live in today.

I never saw the Superman serials but despite the cheap animation, it actually looks decent.

I've got all the Fleischer cartoons on dvd and they were actually the first experiment with rotoscoping. The first episode alone cost a million to make.A million! In those days! Hell of a leap of faith for all involved but it sure paid off :)

That video was excellent. When I was a kid, I loved when that Superman Popeye cartoon came on. And the animation in that 1940's footage is Bananas! never saw the Superman live-action-animation show before, but what they were doing was before it's time.

The animation in the Fleischer footage is better than the a lot of the animation today. Best article yet, even though it's a video posting fro somewhere else. Still, I would have never seen it.

I had the Fleischer cartoons on DVD. Mad Scientist was f'n great!

The flood waters episode was cool too seeing how Superman dealt with multiple catastrophes caused by the flood.
