What Would Happen If Clark Kent Tried To Work At The Daily Planet Today?

Ever find it suspicious how Clark Kent was able to get a job at a place as busy as the Daily Planet? Wouldn't it seem odd for him to get a job right away? Check out this fan-made letter created by an io9 member from Perry White declining Clark Kent's application to the Daily Planet.

That was actually a pretty funny read. Although I thought I was going to hear a serious article about it but this was actually much more enjoyable.

Clark working for Lex would be both the funniest thing ever and the most ironic thing ever.

If they ever reboot Superman again, they should set the movie in the 1930s.

Eh, Not that funny.

Clark can get the job just because he can bring in stories that no one else can.

I am sure all he would have to do is Freelance for the Planet for nearly no $$ while bringing them kick ass stories. It wont be long before they would bring him on full time.

Luthorcorp is in Smallville
Lexcorp is in MOS

Adn i don't know how Clark got his job in Smallville, it seems that he's been hanging around with friends and fighting bad guys after high school for 3 seasons and suddently he is a reporter in Daily Planet in season 8.
Again, what were you doing with all your time? You should've been building up your portfolio!

Its actually pretty smart the way they´ve explained him getting the job. He gets interviews with Superman. He´s the first, so if an alien with God like powers all of a sudden turned up and Clark was the first person to interview him, he´d not only get a job where ever he wanted, he´d be headhunted as well.

Read from the guy at Latino Review that the Batman casting is coming within 30 days. El Mayimbe is the guy. Is he creditable?

Ha. Ha. Ha.

... That was WAAAY too tongue-in-cheek. I was expecting something mildly interesting, maybe even with a bit of substance to it-- not a sheer, pointless goof filled with winks to the reader. This reads like something a high schooler would write for a class project to get a laugh out of his classmates.

"Also, your preference for telephone booths to a cell phone leads me to believe you're not up to snuff with the digital age." Oh, wow-- a phone booth joke! That's not horribly dated at all! (Seriously, when was the last time Superman came anywhere near a phone booth?)

This was painful to read. It really has no place on main.

@frankjaeger: El Mayimbe has been wrong a LOT recently-- whether intentionally or not, he's probably just talking out of his ass.

Yeah didn't this kinda happen at the beginning of the N52 and everyone whined about it? He worked at the Daily Star first then the Planet hired him cause he was taking all their business?

I think that's it. I've read so many Superman origins and they're all so similar that they start to blend together.
