New TEEN TITANS GO! TO THE MOVIES TV Spot Throws Some Shade At The GREEN LANTERN Film

A new TV spot for the upcoming Teen Titans GO! animated feature has been released, & it features John Stewart (rapper Lil Yachty) poking fun at the much maligned Green Lantern movie starring Ryan Reynolds.

So far, the marketing for the upcoming Teen Titans GO! To The Movies animated feature has rather brilliantly focused on taking the piss out of some of Warner Bros.' less than stellar DC film efforts, and that continues with this latest TV promo.

In it, we see Superman, Wonder Woman, and Green Lantern meet up with our teenage heroes on a rooftop. When Starfire asks Stewart if, like his iconic Justice League teammates, he has a movie of his own, he responds: “There was a Green Lantern movie, but… we don’t talk about that.”

Green Lantern wasn't that bad... was it? Oh, okay then.

Tell us, do you think Teen Titans GO! To the Movies will be worth a watch? We'll find out when the feature-length adventure theaters on July 27, 2018.

I don't get the hate with this show. What's wrong with mindless fun? Superhero content has reached a wonderful spot where if it's not complex and intelligent, we don't want it, which is amazing. That being said, there's room for the goofy stuff. Nobody wants complexity 100% of the time.

@webheaded - I usually don’t comment much but I came here to say the exact same thing. I cannot for the life of me understand the hate for this show. It’s pretty [frick]ing funny and the music on the show is great as well. Most of the people mad at this show are most likely close to 30 or in their 30s but there’s episodes right up their ally - the one where the whole show looks like the original JLA and the one with that insane 80s music video. The show is tons of fun.

@Millz333 - show is actually pretty funny and has some good, clever humor that adults will get too. I'm a fan.

@webheaded - same here! My wife & I love it; we cackle like hyenas. Same vein as PowerPuff Girls & gets me smiling.

Before Frank Miller got to Batman & Speedy slammed heroin, comics kinda had an association with kids on occasion.

Let the world laugh!

People are gonna lose their minds when the film makes a Batman v. Superman joke.

@rorywilliams - Lego Batman kind of did but even they shyied away, hope this show has more balls, kind of what Deadpool is to Marvel in example.

@rorywilliams - What's weird is that I don't think Green Lantern is any worse than BvS, and especially Suicide Squad. All terrible films.

@HannibalLecter

You mean what “Deadpool is to Fox-Marvel?” The MCU doesn’t have a character or movie spoof.

Unless you count Age of Ultron.

@Toecutter - So true, I rather watch Green Lantern again then any of the current "DCEU" (Zack Snyderverse). I mean, despite some flaws of the GL, it wasn't a bad film. I'm sure they could have turned things around if they tried (like WB is trying to do with the DCEU for some strange reason).

Although maybe Ryan didn't want to continue? Well they could have pulled a Disney/Marvel, and just recast him without even mentioning. They could have even played that off as a soft reboot of the character, and continued it from there. Shame they got scared of one failure, and then rebooted the whole universe for Snyder's awful vision.

Oh well, at least the comics, and games are good. Plus the shows, and animation are decent (for the most part (TTG being the worse)) so I can get my DC fix from there. I don't need the movies for that (although it would be nice if they could reboot the movieverse for something better because there is no way to salvage the DCEU, it is beyond repair at this point).
HannibalLecter
HannibalLecter - 3/25/2018, 2:45 PM
@Toecutter - I completely agree but I don't think they will mock Batman or Superman since they need to keep up appearances, maybe they will bash Suicide Squad if WB has already canceled all of its spin-offs.

@regularmovieguy

They mock everyone in Deadpool, Rynolds throws a big jab at Green Lantern t

Does this surprise anyone? They made fun of Green Lantern in both the Lego movie and Batman Lego movie and their humor is more tame than Teen Titans GO's, BUT if they made fun of the movie version of the Justice Leauge now that would be a new milestone.

This show really isn't my cup of tea. It's yet another joke per minute low budget animated show aimed at sugar high seven year olds.
