FAN ART: Stephen Amell As 'Casey Jones' In TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES 2

We found out yesterday that Stephen Amell would be playing vigilante Casey Jones in the TMNT sequel, and the ever-reliable Boss Logic is already on the case with both masked and mask-less versions. See if you can spot all the nods to his Arrow character...

Do you think Amell will look anything like this is the actual movie? He'll join the returning Megan Fox as April O'Neil and Will Arnett as Vern Fenwick. Though no other cast members have been confirmed yet, William Fichtner is also expected ro reprise the role of Eric Saks. David Green will direct this time, with Michael Bay once again on board as producer. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2 hits theaters June 3, 2016.

I feel so strange about Stephen Amell. I really like him, I like how he's passionate about Arrow and seems like a good guy. That being said I acknowledge that he is a bad actor. So I want to root for him but man, if I was behind the scenes of a movie like this I would never recruit him.

Wait, you guys, who know that the idea of Ninja Turtles is ridiculous in its own right, based on a TV show built around toys, not comics, and the sequel to a movie that, while bad, still isn't the worst Ninja Turtles movie, find this casting choice bad? Why, because the turtles had so much dignity before? Please remember, this franchise has literally had worse then both Stephen Amell AND Micheal Bay. Remember how everyone complained about Megan Fox, well, she wasn't good, but, she could have been a LOT worse.

Right, and Spider-man isn't ridiculous? Pre 2000, 95% of all CBM's sucked.
Doesn't mean they have to continue to suck.

Eh, TMNT was a comic before it was a toy, then a cartoon. And it wasn't/isn't supposed to be ridiculous... in fact it was originally quite a dark superhero satire. Granted that all changed with the kid's cartoon, but the comics continue to be a bit more gritty. The first film was a bit of a mess, but I think they nailed the Turtles themselves. If they can get their act together for the sequel there is potential.

As for Amell, I don't rate him or Arrow much but I wouldn't say he's BAD. We'll see

@dannramm113 Yea, they could have a music tour or appear on Oprah dancing. Oh wait....

On a serious note, I rather enjoyed the movie. It was entertaining.

Spider-Man: Smart teenage boy with super strength that fights weird villains including diabolical scientists, angry mobsters, aliens, and a rhino

TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES: 4 teenaged turtles that are the size of humans that were trained by a rat to fight ninjas, a brain, a hog and rhino

Which sounds more ridiculous?? Again, its not only the movies btw. Its the TV shows, merchandising, the musical (YES, THERE WAS A MUSICAL). NOTHING was great. Again, the 2014 movie isn't the worst thing to happen to them.

@RorMachine

yeah, I know and understand that. I meant that the tv show wasn't based upon the comics, which were dark and gritty, but instead based on the toys. thats where a lot of the supporting characters came from, including beebop and rocksteady stc

What are the Ninja Turtles? A group of four dumb, fun-loving, mutated, teenage turtles who love pizza and skateboarding. Leo fills the leadership role and is mostly serious. Raph is the angry one with a deep sensitive spot for his brothers. Mikey is dumb but ridiculously happy to be alive. Donny is the smart one that loves gadgets and being a nerd.

If I didn't know any better, I'd say that's EXACTLY what the turtles were like in the first movie. Megan Fox as April wasn't ideal, but it worked. Shredder could have had more depth, but you know he'll come back. There may have even been some really convenient plot points, but those fill some of the best CBMs of our time. Point is, it's a movie built strictly around entertainment value. If you go out of your way to boycott the sequel or bash the franchise or stick to your guns about how much better the original movies were, you're probably just a nitpicking crybaby. Not every action flick can be or should be The Dark Knight.

That said, I think Amell will surprise the few that care enough about fun to catch the sequel. If he does suck, oh well. I guess I'll just have to cry my heart out on the internet for attention.

Are you serious?
Boy bitten by radioactive Spider gains "spider abilities"

How the [frick] is that not idiotic?

Should read "Boy bitten by radioactive spider, goes to the cabinet and gets a bandaid."

Karate turtles are just as likely as a kid crawling up walls.

For a movie built around "entertainment value" it wasn't entertaining, and it had no value.

Point is, TMNT has been handled poorly numerous times. There are numerous examples of it sucking.
The source material ( the comics you [frick]tards, not the 80's cartoon) have some great story arcs.

Could be great, instead we get this garbage.
