Release Date For TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES Pushed Back Yet Again

Paramount Pictures' Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles reboot was already pushed to May 2014 date from its initial Christmas 2013 bow, and was then delayed to June. Now, the studio has moved it even further down the summer schedule next year.

Paramount Pictures originally slated its Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles reboot (which is being produced by Michael Bay and directed by Jonathan Liebesman) for a Christmas 2013 release, before pushing it to May 2014 due to script issues and again to June 6th of next year. Now, the studio has slated yet another release date for the tentpole: August 8th, 2014. Apparently, the reason for the delay is that Paramount didn't want the film to be released so closely to Transformers 4, which is scheduled for a June 27th debut (Deadline suggests that the fourquel may move to June 25th, as the first three films in that franchise all opened on a Wednesday).

The 5/16 date for TMNT (which recently wrapped production) would've pit the Turtles against Godzilla, while 6/6 would've seen them clash with Tom Cruise's Edge Of Tomorrow. Its new date places it a week after Marvel's Guardians Of The Galaxy. The relaunch stars Megan Fox, Alan Ritchson, Pete Ploszek, Noel Fisher, Jeremy Howard, Danny Woodburn, Will Arnett, William Fichtner and Whoopi Goldberg. Are you looking forward to seeing Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles?

Well I think Guardians comes out that week with 50 Shades. Not hating but its likely TMNT will win that weekend. It's funny. We have 2 movies that weekend with one starting a talking Raccoon who shoots guns and one with a talking Rat that's a ninja.

Will Megan Fox call Bay "Hitler," again, or do you think she'll go for something else?

Also, which of the Turtles will be unable to speak and only make beeping noises?

Yes, I can't wait to not see this...

I wish Guardians of the Galaxy luck as it goes up against a film based off of a very popular novel and against the iconic Ninja Turtles. Marvel needs to break in some advertising methods for Guardians. Even though they already started advertising to kids on Disney XD only in like two episodes. But they're going to need more than that.

Good! Less competition for Amazing Spidey 2! Now do the same with Godzilla please!

Omarvls, I don't think it will do that bad, they're pretty iconic and they have a pretty good series (from what I heard) that's going on at the moment and it also has merchandise, so if you add the new fans, the general audience, and the old fans, I think it will make some bucks.

It's a Michael Bay produced production, so it wont bomb, the movie will draw the transformers crowd, kid crowd, in addition to the the fans who have been waiting for a live action TMNT movie. It wont be a faithful adaptation, but the turtles will probably blow up as a result.
