Sounds Like We Might Be Taking A Trip To Dimension X In TMNT Sequel

last night we found out that after a very impressive opening weekend, Paramount has already greenlit a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles sequel. The likes of Casey Jones, Bebop and Rocksteady have already been teased...but could we see Krang and Dimension X too?

The Michael Bay produced TMNT reboot doesn't stray too far into sci-fi territory, but any Turtles fan will know that most versions of the mythology eventually take Raph, Leo, Donnie and Mikey far away from New York..in fact, far away from Earth. In pretty much all previous incarnations of the story, villainous alien brains known as the Utroms (or the Kraang) are introduced, along with their homeworld of Dimension X -- so can we expect to see these elements in the sequel? Screenrant spoke to the first film's director Jonathan Liebesman, along with producers Bradley Fuller and Andrew Form, and when asked if there were plans to "go big and sci-fi" the answer they got was: "F~ck yes!"

Jonathan Liebesman: "I would love to. I mean it’s not up to me. It’s up to all of us to decide.

Brad Fuller: But we’ve talked about those worlds already.

Andrew Form: There are scripts that have been written for this movie that integrated those worlds into it already…

Jonathan Liebesman: They were just too…it made the movie a bit too unfocused for this particular story."

This trio have previously hinted that we might also see the likes of hockey mask-wearing vigilante Casey Jones and Shredder's mutant henchmen Bebop and Rocksteady, so if we'll also be getting Dimension X and Krang, things could get very interesting. Does this sound like a good idsea to you?Or do you think it sounds like a bit much to pack into the next film? Sound off below.

Stop f*cking with us, AlphaAndDecima. Everyone knows we're required to watch every Summer Blockbuster or risk being put in the Thunder Dome for the Gladiator fights!

How about they take the sequel to the trash bin.

That would make me happy.

Awesome. I guarantee a majority of people whining haven't even seen the movie. Loved the turtles as a kid, and this movie did not "ruin my childhood" - actually made me feel like a kid again, which is rare nowadays.

Well i'm certainly not a fan of Michael Bay but i'm far from hating him.I love some of his movies( Bad Boys 2,Pain And Gain,First Transformers movie )
My only concern about the reboot is the director Jonahtan Liebesman. He's terrible. He's making me wish to Bay directing the sequel.

The 90's movie was my first memorie at a movie theater. It was something special. I went last night with my wife saying whatever to the naysaying pretentious critics.

They were right. This is garbage. The sequel will be garbage. They learned ninjutsu from a [frick]ing book........

I...actually liked the movie. It wasn't great, but the Turtles themselves were awesome, and a few tweaks to the script (they should have dropped the Sacks character altogether..useless) could have made for a really good movie. Hopefully the sequel gives us that.

Hellboy, yes that was awful...really bloody awful. They should have gone with the Hamato Yoshi stuff.

I wondered the same. In some iterations the ooze turns you into the thing you came into contact with...Slash Shredder? I wouldn't put it past them.

Speaking of the show why didn't they just go for a live action "episode" stlye movie with the same voice actors? I think with the shows following it would have been even more profitable.

But hopefully we get the real Krang, depending on who's directing. If it's Michael Bay, we might get this:

So a rat learning martial arts is okay, but them learning it from a book is not stupid.... The [frick] are you people smoking?!
bellEND
bellEND - 8/11/2014, 3:39 PM
Wow Hellboy.. Is that true? From a book? That's unbelievable..
What they should of done is have a pet rat imitate the full spectrum of ninjutsu from it's master prior to receiving any dosage of mutagen. That would of been much better received by the general public.

Actually think that Krang would fit in the universe they've created.
