TMNT Toys Give Us Our First Good Look At New 'Splinter' Design

We've seen the Turtles themselves before, but these new images of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles toyline also provide an idea of what we can expect from their rodent sensei, Splinter. There's snaps of the April, Shredder and Foot Clan action figures too.

"The city needs heroes... Darkness has settled over New York City as Shredder and his evil Foot Clan have an iron grip on everything from the police to the politicians. The future is grim until four unlikely outcast brothers rise from the sewers and discover their destiny as Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. The Turtles must work with fearless reporter April and her wise-cracking cameraman Vern Fenwick to save the city and unravel Shredder’s diabolical plan."

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is directed by Jonathan Liebesman. It stars Megan Fox, Pete Ploszek, Noel Fisher, Jeremy Howard, Alan Ritchson, Danny Woodburn, William Fichtner, Will Arnett, Whoopi Goldberg and opens August 8.

Well, at least Splinter is a rat. I really can't make out much more except they decided to give him a wizard's robe.

And is that dude with the clear mask supposed to be Casey Jones or a Foot Soldier?

@Astro

Agreed about Shredder. Why the [frick] does he need his cape to have blades on it? So freaking dumb.

Wow toys are made sh****er than before.
not complaining specifically about TMNT, but wtf is it with these action figures with no joints for arm/leg movement?

Looks like April could fit a turtle between her legs. I am going to assume that she is scaled proportionately to the rest of the toys.

@Batfleck Wow, that is disappointing.

@ Godslayer1

Can't say anything about the ankles but look closer. The elbows and knees both have at least a hinge pivot and I might be seeing a crease for a swivel on the arms (Raph especially).

Mikey's left wrist might have a hinge too but I can't tell for sure.

It's not Macfarlane level articulation but there is something.

Doesn't matter anyways since this is all drin to begin with.
