New Details On What Brings THE FLASH To ARROW

We know a surprising amount about the CW's upcoming adaptation of The Flash - including the fact that he WILL have his suit - but not what it is that brings him to Starling City in the first place. Until now! Hit the jump for details on Barry Allen's debut in Arrow!

Barry Allen will first appear in episodes eight and nine of Arrow before returning in episode 20 for what has been described as a backdoor pilot for his own series. But what brings the character to Starling City in the first place? TV Line has the answer. "I’ve got fresh intel on exactly what brings Central City PD CSI Barry Allen to Oliver’s orbit. The would-be speedster travels (not by foot, I assume) to Starling City while investigating a series of brutal slayings that he believes may have a connection to his mother’s years-ago murder — a crime for which his father has been unjustly imprisoned." That's obviously extremely faithful to the comic book version of Barry Allen and the investigation could serve as a basis for The Flash's television series. How do you guys feel about this news? Be sure to sound off with your thoughts in the usual place!

His Father going to jail for his mothers death was in Flash: Rebirth. Just in case anyone was wondering.

Wonder if this will lead into Zoom.

"Glad to see crossovers like this happening. Hopefully they can bring in more BIG characters in ways that are interesting like this."

Totally agreed, I think they're planning things right in regards to expanding their franchise whether it be through television or the big screen.

They need to make sure that the person who plays Flash will be the same person they use in the Flash solo movie.

I can't wait for Arrow season 2 and The Flash!

Also am I the only one who thinks the mutiverse (Films & tv) is possible? Imagine a crisis on infinite earths sort of film where both the film and Tv universes collide.

@yonny616

I'm not too fond on all of the major Justice League story arcs however I will say that the idea of sharing a TV universe and cinematic universe. I always imagined if they would do it back when I was younger.

Years from now, and I'm talking at least 20 years do you think that we'll see character's like Batman, Superman and others on the small screen? Or do you think they'll continuously release film after film until they're out of ideas??

This makes me very sad that Stephen Amell won't be in the second Justice League movie or connecting to the DC Cinematic Universe

I've only seen the first 3 or 4 episodes of Arrow. Kinda kool, just very "soapy". I'm much more interested in how they'll treat him on the big screen..

questions that need to be answered..

1. Will this be connected to the DCCU ?

2. If so, will the same actor playing Flash be in the movie?

Lets hope they choose someone who has the acting chops to be in both movies and television

Flash is another DC character who needs a major costume revamp, would look ridiculous in live action. Definitely needs a new design, need to darken and grit the red aswell.

Hopefully Geoff Johns stays involved throughout the Flash series and not just the episodes of Arrow leading into the actual series.

Nice. Hopefully they will show this in the show and then they dont have to focus on his origins in the movies. They can go full out on the first movie like its a sequel.

Great great news. Exactly from the comics.

Plus it is a very cool plot for a tv premise, add the drama to it.

I have yet to hear someone who actually has watched all 23 episodes of Arrow say overwhelmingly bad things about it.

The show starts off weak, sure, I still liked it then but I accept that. It gets legs and then kinda loses them in 2 of the middle episodes with the Huntress. But then, the final 10 episodes are just freaking awesome and very well done.

So okay start, good couple of episodes, bad 2 episodes, FANTASTIC final 10 episodes!

Arrow will be stronger than ever come next season.

thewonderer - 8/1/2013, 3:01 PM
They already confirmed he will get powers in the 20th episode and that him getting powers will be the catalyst to Arrow becoming a supernatural world.

Read up on this shit BlackFlash.

This sounds great. The only thing I want to hear now is that "Arrow" mad "The Flash" ARE part of the DCCU.

This sounds really awesome. All I've read is Geoff Johns run on The Flash, but it made me a fan, good stuff.

Can't wait, sounding better & better the more news coming out about The Flash.
thewonderer
thewonderer - 8/1/2013, 3:03 PM
What if the catalyst is Supermans arrival in Man of Steel!!!

*mind blown*

Imagine an Arrow scene. Diggle is watching TV when suddenly "YOU ARE NOT ALONE".

Diggle: Oliver, you gotta turn on the TV right now.
