BARRY HAS FUN WITH HIS NEW POWERS BUT A SETBACK MAKES HIM QUESTION HIS ABILITY TO BE A HERO - Barry (Grant Gustin) escorts Iris (Candice Patton) to a university gathering honoring scientist Simon Stagg (guest star William Sadler). When six gunmen storm the event, Barry changes into The Flash and tries to stop them. While he does save a man's life, he passes out before he can capture the robbers, which frustrates him. As Dr. Wells (Tom Cavanagh), Caitlin (Danielle Panabaker) and Cisco (Carlos Valdes) scramble to find out what's wrong with Barry, Joe (Jesse Martin) comes down hard on Barry for taking the law into his own hands and risking his life. Barry realizes that it wasn't six gunmen but a metahuman named Danton Black (guest star Michael Christopher Smith), who can make multiples of himself. Meanwhile, Iris becomes even more intrigued by the "red streak." David Nutter directed the episode with story by Greg Berlanti & Andrew Kreisberg and teleplay by Andrew Kreisberg & Geoff Johns (#102).

Barry Allen was just 11 years old when his mother was killed in a bizarre and terrifying incident and his father was falsely convicted of the murder. With his life changed forever by the tragedy, Barry was taken in and raised by Detective Joe West, the father of Barry’s best friend, Iris. Now, Barry has become a brilliant, driven and endearingly geeky CSI investigator, whose determination to uncover the truth about his mother’s strange death leads him to follow up on every unexplained urban legend and scientific advancement that comes along. Barry’s latest obsession is a cutting edge particle accelerator, created by visionary physicist Harrison Wells and his S.T.A.R. Labs team, who claim that this invention will bring about unimaginable advancements in power and medicine. However, something goes horribly wrong during the public unveiling, and when the devastating explosion causes a freak storm, many lives are lost and Barry is struck by lightning. After nine months in a coma, Barry awakens to find his life has changed once again – the accident has given him the power of super speed, granting him the ability to move through Central City like an unseen guardian angel. Though initially excited by his newfound powers, Barry is shocked to discover he is not the only “meta-human” who was created in the wake of the accelerator explosion – and not everyone is using their new powers for good. In the months since the accident, the city has seen a sharp increase in missing people, unexplained deaths and other strange phenomena. Barry now has a renewed purpose – using his gift of speed to protect the innocent, while never giving up on his quest to solve his mother’s murder and clear his father’s name. For now, only a few close friends and associates know that Barry is literally the fastest man alive, but it won’t be long before the world learns what Barry Allen has become…The Flash.

Someone was foolish enough to upload the pilot on YouTube. Watch it or download it before it gets taken down.

I have seen no one in school talk about Flash. They always talk about Agents of Sheild and say how it's much better than Arrow."sigh" Then i get criticized by my brother was watching TV Shows on the internet rather than waiting for the UK release :(

They haven't seen the pilot but they think it's just chessy while praising Agents of Sheild. Well my brother does mind you he sees everything since he is a reveiwer on a Radio Show. I hope more pepole will give this show a chance.

I really enjoyed the pilot! Great special effects and interesting characters. A lot of cool easter eggs.

When Barry met with Oliver, I was smiling the whole time.

The last scene was was pretty huge. Harrison Wells must be from the future.

Having seen the original leaked pilot and then the broadcast version, I can say the extra three minutes were just a couple of re-edited scenes with a few extra lines and camera shots. Nothing really interesting. They just needed to re-cut it to fit in the network established run time.

And I'm guessing Harrison Wells is Eobard Thawne. Eddie Thawne is just there to throw us off.

looks great visually! Actually, about as good if not better then Madrox from X3! Wouldn't mind seeing Multiplex as a part of the rogues to start. Only major Rogues missing so far are Mirror Master and Trickster and Golden Glider (Which will probably get a mention with Cold) Maybe Have Captain Cold, Heatwave, Captain Boomerang, Multiplex, Girder and eventual MARK Mardon weather Wizard
