Warner Bros. is pulling out all the stops to get fans excited for The Flash, with DC Studios co-CEO James Gunn hailing it as one of the best superhero movies he's ever seen.
There was even a report in the trades last week that Tom Cruise loved the Scarlet Speedster's first solo outing, but we'll get a much better idea of what to really expect once the movie is screened at CinemaCon next month. In the meantime, The Flash has received its rating and, as expected, it's PG-13.
However, while we expected "sequences of violence and action" and "some strong language," some eyebrows have been raised over the prospect of "partial nudity."
As we're sure you'll remember, The Flash's entire plot has leaked online, but there was no mention of this.
Consider us...intrigued?
Worlds collide in The Flash when Barry uses his superpowers to travel back in time in order to change the events of the past. But when his attempt to save his family inadvertently alters the future, Barry becomes trapped in a reality in which General Zod has returned, threatening annihilation, and there are no Super Heroes to turn to.
That is, unless Barry can coax a very different Batman out of retirement and rescue an imprisoned Kryptonian...albeit not the one he's looking for. Ultimately, to save the world that he is in and return to the future that he knows, Barry's only hope is to race for his life. But will making the ultimate sacrifice be enough to reset the universe?
The Flash races into theaters on June 16.
