Notes

- Joe west does not age, therefore Joe West is of Asgard.

-can we petition for a Henry Allen spinoff.

Must haves
Job
Dr Allen either doing plastic surgery or cooking meth.

Side kick gotta be a funny black dude

"Yo son's The Flash?!

"Mother [frick]er you got me out here with this li'l ass gun and yo son's the Flash."
I'm personally thinking Chris Tucker.

Gotta have DC references. Maybe he sews up a wound for Huntress, or cook up mirakuru for Slade on Lian Yu.

Endless possibilities

I love Flash. He is my favourite character in either DC or Marvel comics, but my god this show feels too childish sometimes. Don't get me wrong, there is a lot to like, but the dialogue is so cringe worthy. Also, I don't want the "team" taking down villains, I want Barry to use his powers in creative ways. It's not like he just has faster legs than everyone, he is supposed to think faster than everyone too, yet somehow he is so often the slowest one to catch on to things. Ridiculous. I thank my lucky stars every day that this isn't connected to the movie universe. I still enjoy the show, but I sometimes feel stupid for doing so.

It was a great premier!!!!!!

I actually really like how they Atom Smasher!!!!! Wish he was bigger and yeah the CGI was off but it is CW (not that I am giving it a pass).

Cannot wait to see Jay Garrick teach Barry how to use his powers!

Also I hope they bring in another Atom Smasher in his colored costume!

@XelCorp

This episode... was entertaining enough. I guess.
Not sure if I'd watch a whole season of this, though I'm curious about Jay Garrick.

Felt like a low key filler episode. The villain never seemed like a real threat. Instead I was preoccupied with the bad attempt at making his appearance and powers seem real. The entire pouting Barry plot and superhero pushing away their friends only to find they need them has been done before. They threw in Wells confession and the release of Barry's father Henry in a non climactic way. Then they send him off immediately which was of course done just because they don't want Shipp on the payroll.

The most lackluster conclusion to a season finale I've ever seen. But the real reason for concern is the utter failure in so many areas from writing to SPFX, acting, tone, directing and even casting.

The fake hand and arm grabbing Barry was laughable. But the reaction shot at Star Labs after they sat off an alarm is the worst moment I've ever seen on this show. Hell, they couldn't even make Joe look younger in the flashback scene.

Other major problems in the script, like Cisco working with the cops?? That character could land some major league work if he lost his Star Labs job. The whole point of this episode was Barry learning that he needs "Team Flash". He already learned that last year. No need to go over it again.

Even though the episode was alright, I must say they are still killing it with the special effects.

The biggest problem with The Flash is you guys. Ya'll always nitpicking at every fricking thing. Just enjoy the show you got because it won't be here forever.

You guys complain about the dumbest things. Yes the pacing was off because they needed closure for the end of last season then start a new story this season. Also of course ATOM Smasher look a little off because all of the money they spent on the cgi for that episode everything is not going to be perfect. The dialogue has always been that way.

You guys are looking for movie quality with a TV budget, the flash, arrow, AOS, LOT and AC are not going to be movie quality. So if you don't like it stop watching.

@AlphaMasterFlex,

Barry is a grown man. He's not being abandoned.
After 14 years, I get why Henry wants to stretch his legs.

@foolsgoldfinger yea it amazes me how much they complain on this site. Nothing last forever we should count ourselves lucky that we are here to see this. Because we could have really lived in a age where Batman & Robin movie could have ended everyone faith in comicbooks movies. Then we be hoping The Tomorrow people come back because it would the closure thing to comicbooks.

I'm confused (was watching it in a noisy room). Is atom smasher dead? And why did Henry leave?

I too thought the effects for atom smasher were off. I'm surprised they couldn't just photographically enlarge him in some shota like those old B movies from the 50's.

I didn't think the episode was too bad. It seems Barry's brooding period is already over, so I can't knock it. It's natural for anyone to have that once in awhile. I do like the part where he's giddy about the key. Great object for the flash museum. Also, Iris was actually less annoying this episode (although I'm wondering why she didn't get a scene saying how Eddie's death is not Barry's fault).
