Time Travel Will Be Officially Introduced On THE FLASH In Episode 15

Time travel has always been a fun aspect of The Flash's many comic book adventures and The CW's live-action adaptation will "officially" explore that components of The Flash's abilities in s01e15.

Ever since the pilot episode of The Flash, fans have theorized that time travel would be a key component of the show and it appears that the fans were right.  Executive producer Andrew Kreisberg confirmed to TV Line that time travel will be appearing in episode 15 of The Flash this season.
"There’s an unexpected, accidental time travel coming up and it is played both for hilarity and darkness. It happens in an episode we’re really excited it — the first Weather Wizard episode with Liam McIntyre."

While the fifteenth episode of The Flash is currently untitled, we know that the sixteen episode features McIntyre and is tentatively titled 'Rogue Times".  Perhaps time travel will be an epidemic explored across two episodes?

New episodes of The Flash return to The CW on January 20, with episode 10, "Revenge of the Rogues".

SYNOPSIS: Barry Allen was just 11 years old when his mother was killed in a bizarre and terrifying incident and his father was falsely convicted of the murder. With his life changed forever by the tragedy, Barry was taken in and raised by Detective Joe West, the father of Barry’s best friend, Iris. Now, Barry has become a brilliant, driven and endearingly geeky CSI investigator, whose determination to uncover the truth about his mother’s strange death leads him to follow up on every unexplained urban legend and scientific advancement that comes along.

Barry’s latest obsession is a cutting edge particle accelerator, created by visionary physicist Harrison Wells and his STAR Labs team, who claim that this invention will bring about unimaginable advancements in power and medicine. However, something goes horribly wrong during the public unveiling, and when the devastating explosion causes a freak storm, many lives are lost and Barry is struck by lightning. After nine months in a coma, Barry awakens to find his life has changed once again – the accident has given him the power of super speed, granting him the ability to move through Central City like an unseen guardian angel.

It's a shame they aren't putting Gustin into the DCCU. He's a really good actor and deserves all the praise and attention.

Grant should've been part of the dccu. Way better portrayal of the Flash than what that chick is gonna do.

Ha! Ezra just got GRONK'D!

This might be a long shot but stay with me. In the episode" The Man in the Yellow Suit" Cisco says that there was two Flashes the night Barry's mother died. And then you see the newspaper headline that The Flash has disappeared in Dr. Wells hidden room. Anybody thinks its possible that in the future, The Flash and Reverse-Flash were battling it out and reached speeds to time-travel, therefore heading back to the night Barry's mother died. I mean, why else would Reverse-Flash be circling her unless The Flash was trying to prevent it. Its just a thought, anybody feel the same way?

Rouge times? spelling mistake or is the flash gonna be getting a new flashy red suit?

@hangmansJoke yeah it seems to me that reverse flash basically gives the flash an ultimatum of killing the young version of the flash or his mother. so when hes get ran away from the house its the flash who takes him while reverse flash kills his mother.

jfrocks2002 - 1/17/2015, 7:25 AM
@HangmansJoke, I get the feeling that the Flash who was there was the younger, inexperienced Flash. He went back in time accidentally, tells his mother everything, etc. The reason she screams "Don't let him touch you, Barry!" is because she doesn't want to risk a paradox that would occur if the young and adult Barrys touch, so Reverse Flash takes whisks him blocks away to be on the safe side.

Who knows, she might just accept that she needs to die in order to keep the timeline the way it should be. BUT (if it were up to me), season 1 would end with Barry changing the timeline so she lived, and season 2 would start off with some Flashpoint craziness.

@Dandy - People who only watch the show and don't A) read comics, or B) go online to sites like this don't really know that part of the Flash's powers.

@jfrocks2002 That a very good perception. I guess we are going to have wait and see. A very good show which I see is just gaining alot of momentum.

Ironically this show needs to slow the [frick] down. Reverse flash, revealing his secret identity, getting the girl, and time travel all in the first season? Holy [frick], they'll be nothing left you can do in season 2 at this rate.

@Titanace

Ezra Miller is a far better actor than Gustin even though hes good too. Also it means all or nothing and their Suicide Squad sucks. I dont want another Agents of Shield and I want the shows to shed light on the more minor characters we'll likely wont see in the movies.

@Anafky89 It seems more that the Execs don't won't the two universes to crossover more than they can't crossover. They're purposefully keeping them separate for a reason, not because of a legal issue but simply because they don't want to include the Arrowverse in the DCCU.

Gustin is great as the TV version of The Flash. And, I seem to remember people on this site making negative comments about him when he was announced in the role. As far as people putting down Miller as the movie Flash, has anyone seen his portrayal yet? Didn't think so. So, why don't you just wait till you see him actually IN the movie, before you put your other foot in your mouth.

It's definitely a smart move to play with time especially with the Flash. still, I'd be pleasantly surprised if the other speedster fighting with RF when Barry's mother was killed turned out to be none other than Jay Garrick, the Golden age Flash. It would be a nice way to introduce him into the show's mythology. Easily explain that he's been temporarily depowered by Future RF syphoning his speed perhaps.
I mentioned in another Flash related article, a possible theory/angle could be that it was in fact a displaced Wally West from either *a future* timeline or even alternate earth(aka: Walter West),trying to intervene. Hell, even Future Barry's niece/nephew whatever. It's definitely open territory with an open timeline.

Alternate future timeline, Walter West:

Here's a fun game of Father Time Conspiracies:

1. Wells time travel's to 2039, Neo-Gotham. A battle erupts between Reverse Flash and Batman. Harrison Wells gets stuck in the future. Terry McGinnis gets stuck in the past. Cue, Queen/Wayne merger.

2. Henry (Jay Garrick) Allen; A 1940's super powered man who took the blame for killing his wife, Nora Allen, just so that he could protect his son from the dangers of Flash.

3. Wally West was the Flash who was trying to save Nora Allen, along with protect his future Uncle Barry from certain death.

Game over, everyone. Hope you enjoyed the trivia.

The producers of The Flash aren't holding back in their storytelling & I couldn't be happier. I read an interview with Tom Cavanagh & he mentioned the producers have already conceptualized the storyline arcs for season 2, so I'm not the least bit concerned that they're doing too much too quickly.

Season 1 will end with Barry (as Flash) going back in time to stop his mother's murder by Reverse Flash. Then Season 2 starts out with Flashpoint paradox and the present timeline being a horrible and different world because there never was a Flash.

Ahhhh, time travel.

Technically, of course, the first episode introduced the concept when they revealed that newspaper from the future... but this looks like they're bringing time travel into the show in a tangible, impactful way. Which is both awesome, and a little tricky...

I just hope the show doesn't get TOO carried away with time-travel hijinks. It's a fun device to use, but too much of it will drown this show in continuity knots and quantum mechanics discussions.
