The production for Warner Bros.' Flashpoint has been troubled at best, but after going through multiple screenwriters and directors, the film looks to finally be getting back on track, this time under the helm of Spider-Man: Homecoming scribes and Game Night directors, Jonathan Goldstein & John Francis Daley.
While not much is known about what's in store for Ezra Miller's solo outing as The Scarlet Speedster, or just how much the film will adhere to its comic book namesake, if a recent report is to be believed, it could only be a matter of time until we hear something.
Omega Underground is reporting that DC and Warner Bros are already planning to shoot the film in Vancouver. This will be the first time in quite a while that the studio has shot a superhero film in the City of Glass, having previously been there for 2009's Watchmen and 2013's Man of Steel.
This information is of particular note, considering that Flashpoint has yet to have a confirmed production start or release date. So, could this mean that an announcement is imminent?
If the film were to shoot this year or early next, it could manage the previously rumored 2020 release date, which would suit the DCEU quite well, as after Aquaman's release later this year and Wonder Woman 2 in 2019, no other projects from the franchise have confirmed releases.
While some cynics might be sceptical, it's not beyond the realms of possibility that the film will really be going ahead this time - especially considering the behind-the-scenes changes at the studio that have seen Walter Hamada and Chantal Nong named President and Vice President of Production, respectively.
If this report is to be believed we could see an official announcement on the films production and more, at the upcoming San Diego Comic Con in a few months time.
What do you think? Is FLASHPOINT finally out of the woods and into production? Are you looking forward to the film? Is the DCEU finally finding it's feet? As always, leave your thoughts below.
