OFFICIAL: DOPE Star Kiersey Clemons Joins THE FLASH As Iris West

After being revealed as the frontrunner a few weeks back, Dope star Kiersey Clemons has officially closed her deal to star as Iris West in Warner Bros.' Ezra Miller-led DC adventure, The Flash!

Even though the release date may be in flux, Rick Famuyiwa's next directorial venture The Flash is starting to come together and they've just added a major piece to star opposite Ezra Miller's Scarlet Speedster in the high-speed DC feature.

Following their earlier report, Variety has now confirmed that Kiersey Clemons has officially joined the film as the female lead, Iris West, who's currently being described as a tough-as-nails journalist and friend of Barry Allen's. As fans of the comics know, West is also the primary love interest and eventual wife of Mr. Allen, so it's more probable than not that the movie will follow that same route.

Production is expected to kick off late this year, probably not long after Miller completes his work on the Zack Snyder-directed Justice League. At the time of this announcement, the production team is eyeing a March 16, 2018 release date, but with Warner Bros. recently slating their Alicia Vikander-led Tomb Raider reboot for the same day, there's a fairly decent chance that The Flash will ultimately be moved to a later date. Seth Grahame-Smith penned the script, which is based on a previous treatment from Chris Miller & Phil Lord.

Clemons is best known for her breakout role in the Famuyiwa-directed Dope and most recently appeared as a sorority sister of Chloë Grace Moretz in the comedy Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising. She can be seen next in Sony Pictures' upcoming remake of the 1990 psychological thriller Flatliners

@Brainiac13 - She was in Eye Candy (horrendously underrated MTV series) and Dope.

@Brainiac13 I just wanna know why you find your own ignorance to her relevance funny. Does your own stupidity amuse you that much?
