Bleeding Cool has posted segments of interviews with Thor: The Dark World director Alan Taylor and producer Kevin Feige about the sequel's mid-credits teaser. As the scene involves a "blonde" Benicio Del Toro as The

Collector from next summer's space epic Guardians of the Galaxy, Taylor was asked if he directed it. "I absolutely did not. I am very happy to not take responsibility," he answered. Can we assume it was James Gunn? "I wouldn’t blame it on James Gunn... Er… I wouldn’t attribute it to James Gunn… it’s clearly his sets and his characters…" When asked if he's not comfortable with the stinger, Alan Taylor reiterated, "I am very happy not to take responsibility for that…" When asked about the different tone, Alan Taylor elaborated, "It’s a different tone. I would have shot it differently. But I think it’s cool that it reaches out and touches that other universe. That universe is coming. The Guardians universe is really cool and wacky… but that sequence in the credits, I would say, is the only part of the movie where I’m happy to give the credit away…" Kevin Feige, on the other hand, confirmed that the tag was filmed "relatively recently" by Guardians of the Galaxy director James Gunn and "within the last three or four weeks." What do you think?

Marvel’s “Thor: The Dark World” continues the big-screen adventures of Thor, the Mighty Avenger, as he battles to save Earth and all the Nine Realms from a shadowy enemy that predates the universe itself. In the aftermath of Marvel’s “Thor” and “Marvel’s The Avengers,” Thor fights to restore order across the cosmos…but an ancient race led by the vengeful Malekith returns to plunge the universe back into darkness. Faced with an enemy that even Odin and Asgard cannot withstand, Thor must embark on his most perilous and personal journey yet, one that will reunite him with Jane Foster and force him to sacrifice everything to save us all. It opens in theaters November 8, 2013.

alan taylor man,idk what up with that dude and before people say he is mad about the issues he had with marvel, he has been very open about it, he said that there was no running time issue and that he oked the running time with marvel, the only problem he had was that he wanted a different composer then the one they got

Sounds like he was not thrilled with the addition of a mid-credits scene and was also not thrilled about the way Gunn did it. Probably because it takes away from what I assume is a more serious Thor. But, hey dude, its the MCU. Mid-credits scenes are a MUST. So get over it.

Did he just diss Gunn? I'm never watching GoT again.

why is he so angry ? newsflash you directed a movie in the MARVEL UNIVERSE not an episode of Game of Thrones. Its shared, its fun and get over yourself because you aren't THAT great of a director.

I think he is just mad that it isn't part of TDW really, but more part of the whole universe. I think he would rather have a scene showing thor 3 (which he hopes to direct i'll asume) Instead of to GOTG.

I usually don't agree with you, but you're right. I mean, they let Shane Black have TOTAL control over IM3, and looked how that turned out.

I enjoyed that movie, but could'a been better.

Its the issue with a shared universe. Marvel has to put aside keeping people happy to keep their universe alive. Its what they HAVE to do. Sadly enough. People don't realize why nobody else has done this whole massive shared universe. If they really let everyone do what they wanted they would end up with a mess like the X-men right now. Or IM3

Good to see that he isn't an ass-kisser. He's probably already on Feige's Black Book.

I feel Marvel need to let the Directors do what they want. I was excited about this movie, but hear, or better yet read a Director comment sadly on his OWN movie makes me lose interest. I never want to hear that. It's like what my Basketball coach use to tell me. Doesn't matter if it's the 4th quarter. Play like it's the 1st.

That's what Marvel need to do. Act like it' still phase 1. Try your hardest to have these movies made and strive to make them.

I reckon they got lazy in this Phase.

I hope The Winter Solider A2, and GOTG can make up for what I call a lackluster phase so far.

Yeah Marvel needs to quit interfering with their directors, BIG TIME. Alan Taylor sounds PISSED. One of the reviews said it seemed like Thor TDW saw the cutting room A LOT. You'd think they woulda learned after Iron Man 2.

I don't see how someone who has been directing shows for a series, where several other episodes are directed by other people, would have an issue sharing the universe his movie is set in.

I don't believe it's like that. It's most likely because it didn't happen HIS way. On GOT, he had it his way like getting to kill of the characters he wanted or anything like that.

I don't blame Taylor bashing Marvel and Gunn. Marvel let him direct Thor 2, but then took the rug off from under him by shortening his film. He wanted a 2 1/2 hour epic grand-scale film, while Marvel wanted a 100 minute slapstick comedy.

Since GoT is based on a series of novels, Taylor actually didn't have too much creative leeway in the story there either.

I guess (and this is how I feel) because the Director didn't care about it. But in this case, the Director did.
