Chris Hemsworth On THOR 3, Teases Armageddon Storyline

Chris Hemsworth talks Thor 3 storylines, "Armageddon aspect is probably the direction in which it will all head in." Is that the direction you'd want to see the franchise take in a third outing? Read on for Hemsworth's full quote.

Speaking to ScreenRant at the Thor: The Dark World press junket, actor Chris Hemsworth shared the following thoughts about a third solo outing for Thor Odinson. “I think what’s good about this is that each time, with the Avengers, we sort of made it difficult to separate them each time there’s some sort of conflict it’s like where’s the rest of the team? And I liked that Thor has another universe or the universe to sort of take care of and keep him occupied. I think that in the comic book the sort of end of days, Armageddon aspect is probably the direction in which it will all head in. Where it’s sort of the end of all things and there’s obviously no script or anything when I read the comic books I thought it was an interesting way to go.”

For those of you who read Marvel Comics and the Thor series in particular, you're familiar with Marvel's Armageddon/Ragnarok centering around Surtur and the drawing of the Twilight Sword. But when specifically asked about the Fire Demon residents of Muspelheim, Hemsworth simply stated, "Yeah (laughs) bring them all in.”

Yes, bring in Surtur for Thor 3, either that or Gor the God Butcher from the recent run as that was awesome too.

They should just let Ragnarok happen. It's a cycle of birth and rebirth anyway.

Kinda sad about the run time and reviews. I was hoping it would be good.

Not another CBM disappointment like DC's last outing was.

Enchantress, working for surtur. Or save enchantress for a Master of Evil movie.

Thor Villains.

1. Loki
2. Surtur
3. Enchantress/executioner
4. Hela
5. Melekith.

I hope they at least explore the 4 remaining characters on that list. Enchantress and Executioner in my opinion could be done easily for a half a movie. Like they are working to get surtur the twilight sword, then surtur can attack asguard at the end. Hela in my opinion is the greatest of characters and I wish they would have given her a part in this movie. But oh well.

Bring Enchantress (cause she's hot)!

Bring Surtur (cause he's REALLY hot)!

Thor 3 should be Enchantress, executioner, surtur. With mention hela.

Captain America three should be Zemo. This would lead well to any form of master of evil story line.

Ragnarok should have been done for his 2nd film. Then you have him return from Hel in either Avengers 2 or Thor 3.

After Thor 3, no more Thor solos.... But Enchantress can always be a villain for anyone else movie. More threats from Asgard without the need for Thor to save the day.

I am a bit worried about this one. judging from the reviews it looks as if there are a lot of emotional moments ruined by cute humor

Yes, please make Thor: Ragnarok. Hopefully, it'll be epic and grand-scale unlike The Dark World.

Will Surtur even be a supernatural creature/being if he's in the movie, or just some alien being.
Same goes for Hela and Hel; Will Hel even be the realm of the dead, or just a planet with nasty alien creatures on it. They're writing themselves into a creative corner relying on explaining everything "scientifically". Same with stuff like the Valkyries, or even Valhalla.

My favorite idea.

Enchantress is working for surtur, fights thor and beats him with the executioner and sends him to hela's palace. Surtur then attacks asgard killing Odin and steeling the eternal flame. Surtur kills the enchantress (or if you want to save her for masters of evil he just betrays her) and He then goes for midguard. Thor kills hela, and defeats surtur on midguard. Then returns to asguard to find Loki on the throne, finding out he had been behind it the whole time. And thor kills him. Obviously zero details behind all this. And maybe to much to cram into one movie. But it would be pretty epic.

thor 3 should be either surtur or the celestial's.

thor vs celestials are some of the best thor comics ever!

I think Ragnarok should be saved for when they want to recast, then you introduce the new actor through the rebirth. That is depending on how far Marvel wants to push the franchise of course.

This is the smartest move to do in adapting Simonsons run.

@MarvelP - Lets not get to comfortable with 82% on only 10 reviews. 170 more are yet to come. IM3 was at a 93% and ended in the 70's.

Didn't IGN give IM3 and Into Darkness both a 9? Those movies were sadly mediocre. Not saying Dark World is better than either, but I don't pay much attention to IGN movie reviews.

Minotauro - 10/23/2013, 2:34 PM
@MarvelP - Is that movie in the 50's getting a sequel? Yes. Is that movie rated higher than IM3 in fan votes on CBM and Imdb? Yes. So lets not get ahead of ourselves.

There is guerrilla warfare going on in every thread related to Thor. This happened before IM3 and before the Avengers last year. Do these pa-trolling troublemakers think that people will stay away from the movie?

Can't wait for Nov. 8.
