Marvel announced today that Kat Dennings is in fact cast to play in 'Thor'. It is still yet to be revealed what character she will play.
"From Midgard to Asgard and beyond, there was much joy, for a new star has joined the cast of "Thor"!
Kat Dennings, co-star of "Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist," "The 40-Year-Old Virgin" and more, has made hers Marvel, becoming the latest addition to the film's already star-studded cast. We'll have more news on Dennings' role soon, so stay glued to Marvel.com.
The 23-year-old actress will star alongside Chris Hemsworth (Thor), Tom Hiddleston (Loki), Anthony Hopkins (Odin), Natalie Portman (Jane Foster), Stuart Townsend (Fandral), Tadanobu Asano (Hogun) and Ray Stevenson (Volstagg). Kenneth Branagh will direct."
It's looking like Dennings will be Thor's Scarlet Johanson. Dennings is a young, beautiful actress with lots of potential, but has yet to prove herself as more than just eye candy. She will be working alongside Natalie Portman, a beautiful but more slender and more experienced actress who has already proven herself. Portman said in an intervew that she was very excited to be working with Dennings which is a very sharp contrast from the relations between Iron Man 2's Scarlet Johanson and Gwyneth Paltrow.
jusme6: 'Thor' is looking more promising every day.
