Recently catching up with
Entertainment Weekly, Marvel Studios' President Of Production, Kevin Fiege, open up on the direction for the much-anticipated
THOR sequel. While we've
received word of who'll takeover for original director Kenneth Branagh, Fiege essentially confirms Natalie Portman's 'Jane Foster' returning, as well the sequel exploring other worlds.
Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige recently told EW that plans were developing fast for the sequel, which he said would “take Thor literally to other worlds.” While moviegoers will next see Chris Hemsworth as the hammer-swinging hero in The Avengers next May, Thor 2 would “primarily be the journey of that character, of he and Jane Foster and how the new dynamic with his father is working out, as well as what are the broader stakes for The Nine Worlds,” Feige said.
Last month's
reveal of the sequel's Asgardians and mythical Norse creatures doubling in size, is especially complimented by today's news above. But what's most exciting about the exploration of other worlds, is the fact that Marvel Studios are further pushing to expand the cosmic side of the Marvel Universe.
While
The Avengers will essentially expand the Marvel Universe's cosmic side too, look for the
Thor sequel in theaters July 26, 2013. What do you think?
