Cool. Too bad, I would have loved to see him do Thor 2 but I understand the guy.

Gonna miss this guy! Totally understandable why he didn't jump on. He invested so much time and energy to do Thor i wouldn't want to immediately jump into a sequel either. Thats not good for creativity and ideas.

I would like to have seen the dude come back for a second time.
Most be a Thor day...i was just reading on MSN and Thor got ranked in the top 10 worse movie of 2011. Critics.... sppssh. I didn't find the movie great by no means...but i definitely didn't think it was one of the worse.
Anyway good to see Hawk back on main. Hope you all had a great holiday weekend.

MARVEL: People loved the movie this weekend. We want you to do another.

KENNETH: Oh, great.

MARVEL: Tomorrow.

KENNETH: Huh? I thought I'd rest a bit and catch up on my other--

MARVEL: [frick] that. Start the sequel in two hours.

KENNETH: Kevin?

MARVEL: Not making the sequel would be painful...

KENNETH: You're a big company.

MARVEL: ...for you.

HE DID A GREAT JOB, ITS A RESPECTFUL DECISION I THINK, YOU DON'T WANNA RUSH A THOR MOVIE OTHERWISE ITS GONNA SUCK, BETTER TO DO IT JUSTICE THAN JUST PUSH IT OUT ON AN ASSEMBLY LINE..

Thor makes money out of the "small scale" production, GL does not as it squanders more than 200 million for a SyFy like output. Bet less in the debut, bet more in the sequel.

Of course it's good. Thor 2 is almost a reality than GL 2. Money means studio won't hesitate to move with sequesls. As for the movie itself Thor is ain't bad. IMDB and RT have attested that the movie is above average.

"still there were some who doubted the timing issue"
LOL, gotta love it when they throw that in. Just say "hey I think the guy is lying" and call it what it really is.

@Illwill yeah having it take place in Asgard and earth was a very small scope. Just because the town was small in no way makes the scope of the film small.

Thor was a awesome movie and I for one have faith that Marvel will keep on making great movies.

BlueHawaiiSurfer: Those were my words and an observetion. Every THOR 2 thread that has been on this site has been full of people commenting on how Branaghs departure from the franchise had nothing to do with anything but "Big Brother Marvel."

You must be relatively new here or you would know if I had any doubts, I would have made it clear they were my doubts.

Favreau almost didn't do Iron Man 2 for the same reason. The turn around time Marvel expects on it's sequels lately is pretty insane.

I'm happy he'snot doing it, i want a GREAT sequel....not a "good" one...

i agree with MrNoFear and Illwill...Thor WASN'T that good of a movie. Captain America was far superior. i left Thor wishing i hadn't spent the money on it. and hell im glad i didnt spen any money on X-Men First Trash.
GUNSMITH
GUNSMITH - 12/27/2011, 2:10 PM
THE GOOD THING WITH SEQUELS IS THEY GET MORE MONEY...THOR DID WELL, SO WITH MORE MONEY THEY CAN TRAVEL..YOU GOT NINE REALMS, TONS OF CREATURES, LANDSCAPES HELA SURTUR VALKYRIES AND FRIGGN FLYING HORSIES, BALDER...THOR WAS GOOD AND BECAUSE OF THAT THE NEXT WILL BE GRANDER.

Thor was awesome, best CBM of 2011.

I think its so funny when haters try to say what the person being interview is thinking, even though Branaugh CLEARLY just stated the reason why he's not doing another sequel.
EarOne
EarOne - 12/27/2011, 8:34 PM
i still don't get WHY they cut all those scenes...!! they will REALLY actually make Thor THAT much a better movie. more than just another "super hero" movie.

i wonder WHO made the decisions to cut em, branagh or marvel..?? such a great pity.
EarOne
EarOne - 12/27/2011, 8:39 PM
i hope they would do an EXTENDED version dvd a la TLOR movies.
