THOR: RAGNAROK Star Chris Hemsworth Thought He'd Been Fired After CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR Exclusion

Chris Hemsworth has revealed how he & Mark Ruffalo felt upon learning that they were being left out of Captain America: Civil War & why he initially assumed he was being dropped from the MCU.

Captain America: Civil War featured pretty much every member of The Avengers (and even a few new ones), but conspicuous by their absence were Thor and The Hulk. At the end of Avengers: Age of Ultron, the God of Thunder went off to search the cosmos for whoever is attempting to gather the Infinity Stones, while The Hulk was headed for parts unknown after bidding farewell to Black Widow.

The duo will be reunited on Sakaar in The Grandmaster's arena when Thor: Ragnarok is released in November, but in a new interview with Entertainment Weekly (via Screen Rant), Chris Hemsworth made a startling admission about learning he was being left out of Captain America: Civil War

"I was like, ‘What? Are we being fired?’ Marvel quickly reassured us, ‘No you guys have got your own journey going on, and in order for that to work you can’t be a part of this one.’ Look, it turned out just perfect because we got to do a whole different kind of thing we wouldn’t have able to do otherwise." It's been said that Thor and The Hulk were left out of the movie due to being too powerful, but this explanation makes sense too as Age of Ultron perfectly set the stage for Thor: Ragnarok

I do think it was for both Ragnarok reasons and power-set level kind of stuff. I usually think it'd be the same for Quicksilver since his super speed would've killed the momentum of both teams running at each other before colliding.

Then again Flash just sprinted into action in the Invasion crossover so what do I know. :P

What a scare that must've been for him.

@NinnesMBC - He could have been faced against Vision.

Im still not happy that he didnt fight Wanda in the airport. Atleast giving us a shot of him using his beam against her forcefeild.

@Gjedi - It was implied that Quicksilver could get tired -- hence his getting wounded earlier in the battle -- so near the end of the battle he was not at his usual lightning-fast speed.

@Gjedi - He must get a bulletproof suit that is also lightweight I guess.

Or he could learn to phase or is that just reserved for the Flashes?

@StormXmen123 - I get you. Vision and her were the strongest in each team which also meant they had to had the strongest defenses and supports so I think that is why they had those roles.

Just cross fingers they go all ofensive in Infinity War.

@NinnesMBC - He's always been less powerful in terms of speed and other powers than the Flashes. I've never seen him vibrate through solids either.

@StormXmen123 - The Vision would never use his gem beam against Wanda. That would be like you shooting a gun at one of your family, and hoping that you miss.

Thor and Hulk would be OP in Civil War, glad they weren't there, now Ragnarok will be epic with them together

@JohnnyTBP - I don't know. You could just have them fight each other. I mean, the teams already included Vision and Scarlet Witch.

@JohnnyTBP - But one could argue that Scarlet Witch (even though no one has ever called her that) and Vision were too OP for Civil War. Vision just flew around and Scarlet Witch just threw stuff. They were so misused in that airport fight scene because they could've ended things before they even began.

I think it was a good decision. Thor would have found the whole thing petty. And tiny.

Lol yeah, Civil War would have ended in 10 seconds. Unless Hulk and Thor where on the opposite sides.
