THOR: RAGNAROK Will Actually Be The Longest Instalment Of The Franchise To Date

Thor: Ragnarok director Taika Waititi previously claimed that Thor: Ragnarok would only be around 90 minutes long but the filmmaker's claims were clearly just a joke as the official running time is here.

A little while ago, Taika Waititi shocked us all when he claimed that Thor: Ragnarok would run for only around 90 - 100 minutes. That would have made it the shortest Marvel Cinematic Universe movie to date and left fans worried that this would be far from an epic adventure. Well, the British Board of Film Classification has revealed the actual running time ahead of its October 24th release and it's long!

In reality, Thor: Ragnarok is actually going to run for 130 minutes and 21 seconds, a lengthy amount of time which ensures the God of Thunder's will have plenty of time to shine when he returns to
theaters.

Thor was one hour and 55 minutes and Thor: The Dark World was one hour and 52 minutes so this is the longest instalment of the franchise to date. It will now be interesting seeing how Avengers: Infinity War compares, especially when that's going to be the biggest Marvel movie to date in terms of scale and characters. With the release of Thor: Ragnarok getting closer, be sure to stay tuned for more.

No surprises here.

If you really thought this was going to be 90 mins, then you had really missed Taika's easy going and humorous personality.

@kylo0607 - Yeah, but at the same time it's not really funny. I mean, would that really effect people watching it or looking forward to it if it were shorter? I'd understand if he were saying something involving changing the character in a pretty drastic way only then for it to be revealed that's not the case, like maybe Hulk only appearing in a dream sequence. But lying about the length just seems weird.

@kylo0607 - I thought it was going to be at least short based on that haha. I didn't really take it as a bad thing I was kind of excited to see how the pacing would be because I felt like it would be high octane from beginning to end. I didn't really register as a joke but I'm excited to see this news now as well because I'm so excited for this movie and the more the better because they have a lot of storylines to flesh out and I'm glad that they can give each a solid amount of time now that this is the case.

@Toecutter - My god, if I had Kurt Russell's hair in the 80s, I would never go to bed alone again.
