What Is ‘Malekith’ Up To In Recent Videos & Photos From THOR: THE DARK WORLD Set?
The most recent bundle of photos and videos from Marvel's Thor: The Dark World set have raised a few questions involving a solo Malekith scene and a mysterious prop advert. Check it out!
A battle between the God of Thunder & the Accursed Dark Elf ruler of Thor: The Dark World was the highlight of yesterday's filming at Greenwich, London. However, there was another brief scene filmed with Christopher Eccleston's ‘Malekith’ solo, doing something surely villain-like, but unknown specifically. And with photos courtesy of Expederest and set footage via CBM user Topcat10, check it out below. And there's more on-set mystery indulgence even lower!
Furthermore, somewhat of another mystery came from the set yesterday. A double-decker London bus is being used as a prop in the Alan Taylor-directed Marvel sequel. And while it'll likely to take part in carnage during the movie, the mystery comes more from the advert on the bus. Captioning another photo by Expederest (pictured above), Tumblr user Knorcerer investigates:
“Just a London bus, right? But what about the advert? Moral Sacrifice? In cinemas now? A quick Google search shows that there’s no film by that name, and definitely none in cinemas now. Plus, no trailers or any promotional material for it on Youtube. Oh, but there’s an actor’s name on the top of it, so it must be legit! What’s the name? Oliver Goodier. I was disheartened to see that he actually has an IMDB account… But then clicked on it to discover that he’s the art director for Thor 2! http://www.imdb.com/name/nm1049859/ Coincidence? I think not! So, what exactly is a moral sacrifice and what does it have to do with the movie? ”
Marvel Studios’ “Thor: The Dark World” continues the big-screen adventures of Thor, the Mighty Avenger, as he battles to save Earth and all the Nine Realms from a shadowy enemy that predates the universe itself. In the aftermath of Marvel’s “Thor” and “Marvel’s The Avengers,” Thor fights to restore order across the cosmos…but an ancient race led by the vengeful Malekith returns to plunge the universe back into darkness. Faced with an enemy that even Odin and Asgard cannot withstand, Thor must embark on his most perilous and personal journey yet, one that will reunite him with Jane Foster and force him to sacrifice everything to save us all.
Starring Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, Tom Hiddleston, Stellan Skarsgård, Idris Elba, Christopher Eccleston, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Kat Dennings, Ray Stevenson, Zachary Levi, Tadanobu Asano and Jaimie Alexander with Rene Russo & Anthony Hopkins as Odin, “Thor: The Dark World” is directed by Alan Taylor, produced by Kevin Feige, from a story by Don Payne (credit not final) and screenplay by Christopher Yost and Christopher Markus & Stephen McFeely (credit not final) and is based on Marvel’s classic Super Hero Thor, who first appeared in the comic book “Journey into Mystery” #83 in August, 1962. “Thor: The Dark World” is presented by Marvel Studios. The executive producers are Louis D’Esposito, Alan Fine, Stan Lee, Victoria Alonso, Craig Kyle and Nigel Gostelow. The film releases November 8, 2013, and is distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures.
In addition to “Thor: The Dark World”, Marvel Studios will release a slate of films based on more iconic Marvel characters including “Iron Man 3” on May 3, 2013; “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” on April 4, 2014; “Marvel's The Avengers” sequel (title TBA) on May 1, 2015; and “Ant-Man” on November 6, 2015!
