DreamWorks presents this computer-animated motion-capture adaptation of Georges Remi's beloved Tintin comic strip in this first installment of a planned trilogy. Steven Spielberg handles direction duties on the initial film, which is set to be followed by a second film helmed by Peter Jackson, who shares producing duties on the films along with Spielberg and Kathleen Kennedy. Jamie Bell provides the voice of Tintin, with Daniel Craig, Andy Serkis, Simon Pegg, Nick Frost, and Toby Jones heading up the rest of the cast. Edgar Wright, Joe Cornish, and Steven Moffat provide the screenplay.

I think this is gonna stink something nasty!! Tin tin was never meant to be on the big screen and really should be left as it is! This movie will do badly and the second one will go straight to dvd... It doesn't matter that it Speilberg and Jackson behind it!!

As a kid I came across some Tin Tin issues but it never really seemed interesting to me. And as I grew up I was always puzzled by how popular this character is.
I'm not saying that I hate Tin Tin, I just dont get what makes it THAT popular and worth having the attention of Speilbeg and Jackson!

You sound so excited, teabag. Your mocking of Tintin and fantasies of an underlying message to the series leads me to believe you are sercretly questioning your gingerness. Years of the use of makeup to cover up you freckles has skewed your image of soceity. You have forgotten what brought you to this point in your life. The Unicorn!

In all reality, I can see both sides of the fence on this one (no pun intended). I always likened Tintin to a young version of Indiana Jones. The storylines were adventurous and it was definetly a standout in its day. But if you weren't into it, you just weren't into it.

For all you younglings out there asking what Tintin is, that is exactly why he needs to be brought to the forefront of mainstream soceity and this movie should do justice.

Not everything has to have giant robots or muscled supermen fighting against evil so the story can be interesting. Not like theres anything wrong in those stories but still!!;) lol

Everyone who doesnt know what Tintin is about here it is!
Tintin is a smart young reporter who travels around the world solving mysteries, hunting treasures and fighting against drug dealers/smugglers, terrorists and revolutionists with his white fox terrier Snowy (or Milou) and alcoholic friend Captain Haddock who has very bad temper and dirty mouth.
He is also sometimes assisted by pretty much deaf Prof. Cuthbert Calculus, Inspector Clouseau (from The Pink Panther) like Inspectors Thomson and Thompson, Comical italian opera diva Bianca Castafiore, bad ass revolutionist General Alcazar, Portuguese Salesman Oliveira de Figueira and young chinese boy Chang Chong-Chen.

This looks awesome. The books are classic and basically laid the groundwork for that popular film franchise Indiana Jones.

I was bummed when I heard it was going to be motion capture, but I have a lot of faith in it, especially since Edgar Wright is involved. The only thing is....Where's Calculus? He should be in this movie.

Teabag, you're on a roll, man.

I can't wait to see this charater from my childhood come to the big screen, but it is a crying shame that we may never see one of my other alltime favorites in film...ROM: The Spaceknight!

Hopefully if this works, they can collaborate on Asterix and Obelix. We already know that visual style works in CG (How To Train Your Dragon).
