A seemingly impossible robbery at Queen Consolidated’s Applied Sciences Division brings Central City police scientist Barry Allen (guest star Grant Gustin) to town. Citing a similar case back home, Barry offers to help Oliver (Stephen Amell) and team with the investigation. Oliver senses there is more to Barry than meets the eye, but he’s distracted by the similarities between this current case and something that happened on the island. Meanwhile, Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards) takes a liking to Barry, which doesn’t go unnoticed by Oliver. Sin (guest star Bex Taylor-Klaus) asks Roy (Colton Haynes) for help when a friend of hers goes missing. Roy is surprised when Thea (Willa Holland) not only encourages him to help, but joins the search. Unfortunately, Sin’s friend is connected to Brother Blood (guest star Kevin Alejandro), and their search ultimately gets one of them seriously injured. Michael Schultz directed the episode with story by Greg Berlanti & Andrew Kresiberg and teleplay by Andrew Kreisberg & Geoff Johns (#208).

Arrow season 2

"After a violent shipwreck, billionaire playboy Oliver Queen was missing and presumed dead for five years before being discovered alive on a remote island in the Pacific. When he returns home to Starling City, his devoted mother Moira, much-beloved sister Thea, and best friend Tommy welcome him home, but they sense Oliver has been changed by his ordeal on the island. While Oliver hides the truth about the man he’s become, he desperately wants to make amends for the actions he took as the boy he was. Most particularly, he seeks reconciliation with his former girlfriend, Laurel Lance. As Oliver reconnects with those closest to him, he secretly creates the persona of Arrow – a vigilante – to right the wrongs of his family, fight the ills of society, and restore Starling City to its former glory. By day, Oliver plays the role of a wealthy, carefree and careless philanderer he used to be – flanked by his devoted chauffeur/bodyguard, John Diggle – while carefully concealing the secret identity he turns to under cover of darkness. However, Laurel’s father, Detective Quentin Lance, is determined to arrest the vigilante operating in his city. Meanwhile, Oliver’s own mother, Moira, knows much more about the deadly shipwreck than she has let on – and is more ruthless than he could ever imagine."

I only got to watch the end of this episode, I'm happy Merlyn is back. He was one of my favorite things about the first season. I think its obvious there's some tie in with him and the League, and possibly the Lazarus Pit.

I really hope this Gustin kid knocks it out of the park with Barry. I hate commercials for shows, it always makes it look corny and cheap.

What a show! Can not wait for Barry. There is just no way WB/DC would be dumb enough to not include Arrow in the DCCU. If it is included, then DC has the better universe IMO because the possibilities will be endless.

I'll probably seem stupid for just now figuring this out, but Barry Allen was felicity's friend who she helped out with the parking ticket!

It had to be an illusion...or else merlyn would have mentioned Oliver. Plus, he implied that he was one, maybe he's just Moira's conscience being too her? It out is actually him though...God help the world

Actually I'm surprised at how film worthy Grant Gustin seems.

JoeMomma29
JoeMomma29 - 11/20/2013, 6:28 PM
@ dannramm

I am sure Merlyn will not mention Oliver due to a mutual respect of being warriors. Remember the other League of Shadows member calling themselves warriors and referring to Oliver as a warrior as well.

That episode was so good! I'm actually glad that Oliver decided that killing was the only option when it comes down to a situation like that. I feel as if the Count taking over the television scene was an exact copy of the Dark Knight Joker scene consisting of the same thing! It wa still great though.
Merlyn returning wasn't ever a question of will he or will he not it was just a question of when and this was a lot sooner than I expected!
I absolutely love this show and that's coming from a right winged Marvel fan!
