ARROW: Stephen Amell Comments Briefly On The Introduction Of China White And Deadshot

Talking to Green Arrow TV at the Television Critics Association press tour yesterday, Arrow star Stephen Amell confirmed that Deadshot will appear in the third episode of the series ("Lone Gunmen") and shared his thoughts on how he believes their confrontation will go down. "Unfavourably, for Deadshot, I would suspect. I can tell you that they are going to be after some of the same people. Oliver does have a code. Obviously, it doesn’t include 'no killing,' as we’ve established so far, but there is a code. I don’t think Deadshot it. I don’t think he respects his methods, which puts him in Oliver’s sights." There's currently no word on who will portray the villain.

However, we do know who plays China White in the second episode ("Honor Thy Father"); X-2 actress, Kelly Hu. "It was awesome, man, Amell told the site about working with her on the show. "I had seen her in X2, and I had seen her in Vampire Diaries, and she came up, we did some cool fight training...she’s enthusiastic. I get to speak to her in Mandarin, which was fun. She’s great. It’s cool, because we took the Arrow costume and tried to make it as functional and as real as possible, so it was cool to see the next iteration of a villain. Her character’s costume...the idea that these would be real people, so seeing her in costume looks great. She’s awesome."

Which other villains (and heroes) would you like to see in Arrow? Sound off with your thoughts in the usual place, and stay tuned for more news on the show as we get closer to its premiere on the CW on October 10th.

I could be wrong but after the let down that was Smallville I really don't have faith in any DC live TV shows, they seem almost ashamed of the original source material. Only time will tell.

@Splenda- Totally agree. Shitville made Deathstroke into John McCain and Deadshot into a damn cajun cowboy.

Stupid Smallville. I hope this show will repair the damage done to deathstroke and deadshot by smallville

Arrow sounds promising. I hope they introduce characters like Roy Harper and Artemis into the mix later on. The fact that they are using some high profile villains early on is a good sign, we don't want soap opera stuff.

@SUPERSHADOWBAT- Exactly my friend, no more soap opera crap and they are bringing in the BIG GUNS- Deathstroke and Deadshot. I'm cautiously optimistic

@LP4 Birds Of Prey was another show and don't forget about the awful Wonder Woman pilot. DC have been kicking major ass in animation since the Timmverse days but their track record in live action hasn't been good. Smallville had its moments but when it was bad it was horrendous.

The problem really isn't DC though, it's their parent company. Warner Brothers have never really had a clue what they were doing with DC. They lucked out on Batman but if you know anything about the history of Warner Brothers when it comes to developing their DC properties, it's been a complete mess for years with powerful producers like Joel Silver and Jon Peters getting their hands on the various properties (Silver is making a kid-friendly Lobo movie and had no clue what he was doing when he tried to get Wonder Woman going...Peters...well...giant spider in the third act) and whatever was left was made by committee.

What Warner Brothers needs to do is take it out of their own hands. Give the DC property to Paul DIni and Bruce Timm. Give them $500 Million and tell them to go and make three movies without any interference. Let them hire who they want and make the movies they want to make under the condition that there needs to be a $1 Billion+ return between the three movies if they want to make anymore. In effect, separate DC from Warners with the latter acting only as an investor with no creative control.

@ magic8 "Smallville was just ONE show. Overreact much?"

Have you forgotten Lois & Clark or the Wonder Woman pilot? Both had real potential but soon turned to crap, in Wonder Woman's case it didn't even get past the pilot.
