ARROW: The Oliver, Sara And Laurel Love-Triangle Gets Closure This Season

Arrow began with Oliver Queen in a love-triangle with the Lance sisters but the series has moved on from that 'soap opera' to focus on Olicity. A portion of Season 4 will be devoted to putting that early storyline to rest. Do you think Oliver will end up with Laurel or Felicty by series end?

Douchebag Billionaire play-boy, pre-island Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell) cheated on his current girlfriend, Laurel Lance (Katie Cassidy), with her younger sister, Sara Lance (Caity Lotz).  Three seasons have seen Oliver bounce between Laurel and Sara (and many other supporting characters) to apparently settle down with Felicity Smoak (Emily Bett Rickards).  However, season 4 will look to address the season one love-triangle to put it to rest once and for all, as Sara moves to DC's Legends of Tomorrow.

Arrow executive producer Wendy Mericl told TV Guide, "[Laurel's] journey this year is tied a lot to her sister.  We're excited because the series started with the whole triangle of Oliver and Sara and Laurel.  And with Sara coming back and then moving on to go on her own journey, we have the potential to change the dynamic there in a really positive way for Laurel. [We] kind of put the past to rest."

In seasons past, Arrow showrunners have stated that Oliver was destined to end up with Laurel by series end as Black Canary and Green Arrow are husband and wife in the comics.  However, the fandom fervor for Olicity seems to have changed that plan. Given the current dynamics on the show,  it's hard to imagine that Oliver will ever end up with Laurel. Unless something happens to Felicity.....

Came from, but it's not that true. Kreisberg and Berlanti were the only ones smart enough to keep their mouths shut before they left. And Guggenheim's been an Olicity shipper since day 1 of his tumblr.

As for Oliver and Laurel not ending up together...he certainly won't be with Felicity much longer I'll tell ya that, and there's a reason why it's called a "crucible relationship"

Cool? I guess. As long as the writing is much better this year. I mean, there's not many things on this planet that are worse than Arrow season three, right?

Oh wait...I found one:

Felicity needs killed off, and Laurel needs to be made more likeable. Olicity is a cancer to the show. Plain and simple. Laurel should be the end-game. Just gotta make her better.

I think the only thing they can do is kill off felicity. The way they utilized her in the 3rd season is irreversible. Not amount of writing can reverse that in a believable way. And you can't just make them "break up". The events in the 3rd season made it seem like these two are soul mates or something. There is no way to believably break up Oliver and felicity.

I've always had this theory regarding the fourth season for Arrow and how everything should play out:

You introduce the characters and all that, have the Damien Dark guy show up in Star City and cause a bunch of trouble for Team Arrow. The relationship between Oliver and Felicity would become strained and all that, but they never give up on each other, they always love one another. Cut to episode 12 or 13, near the end of the season. Damien Dark has kidnapped Felicity and is holding her hostage. It's his way of getting Green Arrow to come after him. As soon as Oliver shows up at Damien's base of operations, Damien takes felicity and uses his powers to essentially pop her heart in her chest, so she's dead, donezo, no more.

Of course, Oliver goes into a depression. he starts sobbing violently and just turns into a hermit. He tries to find several different ways to bring Felicity back. You know how John Constantine will be in this season? Oliver calls him up and is all like "John, my girl is dead. I need your help." and John is all like "Nah man, I can't do anything, I'm in hell" or something like that. Then Oliver goes to Merlyn and asks if he can use the lazarus pit. Merlyn is all like "Sorry bro but I sealed that [frick]ing thing up ages ago so that it wouldn't be used by you again." Oliver gets all ass mad and swears off ever becoming a hero again.

Cut to a few years in the future. Since Felicity's death, Damien Dark has dropped a nuclear bomb on the US. A large portion of American because a toxic wasteland. Oliver snapped mentally and took up a relationship with his sister Thea. They've had a kid and she's expecting a second one. They live on the outskirts of this dusty desert nuclear wasteland place. Damien has killed nearly all of the worlds heroes except for a few. Hawk girl is dead, hawkman is dead, Atom is dead, Firestorm is dead, Mr. Terrific died before he could even become Mr. Terrific, and only the Flash is left (like I said, Constantine is in hell).

Anyways, the season ends with Oliver sitting on his front porch enjoying a beer, when suddenly Barry Allen shows up sporting a full blown beard. He tells oliver how he never gave up, and Oliver shouldn't give up. He then tells Oliver how he knows where Damien Dark is, and how they can kill him. He then asks him if he wants revenge, with Oliver responding, "No....I want justice."

Cut to black. Screen then shows the title "Arrow" with the subtitle "Old Man Oliver."

Show goes on hiatus, Marvel hears wind of this and sues CW for copyright infringement, show goes out of existence forever, Stephen Amell and Emily Bett Rickards are thrown into jail.

I remember Kate Cassidy when she was the original "Ruby" on "Supernatural" Not only was she hot but also a (of course evil) bad-ass. I wish she would bring some of that swagger and confident acting to "Arrow" and all would be well.

I'm actually saddened

I quite like Felicity, ALLOT, and she's a great well developed, and acted character who has great chemistry with the cast , including Oliver.

That being said, she's messing the cannon up and needs to go....or paired with Ray, or Barry.

I'm still rooting for Arrow to be great again, but when most of your marketing is focused on love relationships there's a bit of a problem. Now I'm sure The Flash will have some of this as well but at least its marketing is more towards action and story.

DON'T KILL FELICITY.

She went from being a ditzy blonde into a stronger character who actually manned up when Diggle and Roy were thinking of quitting after Ollie's "death". She actually moved on from Oliver before that and she actually directed the team. She's a stronger character who has earned her position by Oliver's side.

But stupid fanboys only want women to be subservient. God forbid a woman be anything other than a side-kick/spin-off.

ARROW showrunners and writers just do not know how to write female roles. Pretty much every female character on the show is unlikeable/annoying.

Felicity and Oliver's relationship is one of the most annoying things that they could possibly have come up with, the way that they have written it, it does nothing for advancing the story or character development especially because they stated he is supposed to end up with Laurel so it's just like treading water.

They have not developed Oliver and Laurel's relationship whatsoever their chemistry is atrocious. I still feel like she hates him for everything he has done. It's like she only interacts with Oliver because he's the only vigilante she can talk to (even when she found wildcat she didn't care bout oliver). I feel like there has been no true reconciliation or even hint that they remotely enjoy each other's company.

Better end with Laurel slapping Oliver and Felicity's shit and ending that nonsense.
