The Hollywood Reporter have revealed that yet another familiar character from the comic books will be coming to the third season of Arrow. Medium star David Cubitt will play Mark Shaw in the third episode of The CW series, and he is better known to fans as Manhunter. According to the site, the character will make his debut in the present day as, "an A.R.G.U.S. operative in Corto Maltese who crosses paths with Diggle."

Not to be confused with Martian Manhunter, Manhunter has been a name taken by a couple of different characters over the years. One of those was Starling City prosecutor Kate Spencer, though she was killed off in season two. However, Mark has some ties to the Suicide Squad, something which is sure to get fans talking once again about a spin-off featuring the popular team.

Plenty of other familiar faces are coming to Arrow this year, including The Atom/Ray Palmer (Brandon Routh), Wildcat/Ted Grant (J.R. Ramirez), Katana (Devon Aoki) and a new Count Vertigo (Peter Stormare). Oh, and let us not forget Ra's Al Ghul, the main villain of season three!

Hate to disappoint, but that won't happen. And at least Kate can act. Caity Lotz, and her upper lip of doom, always has the same expression on her face no matter the situation on the show.

I prefer the female version of Manhunter from the comics.
DC / WB sure is tossing out all the characters..will they have enough for more seasons or by season 5 they be down to ANIMAL-VEGETABLE-MINERAL-MAN.

@JillyMcBeam Well, I'm not disappointed, because you know about as much as I do. If you had told me before season 2, that Shado would die, I probably wouldn't have believed it. And then what happened? For all we know, both Sara and Laurel could die.

At least Sara is written better and a more believable character than Laurel. They took a character that nobody really cared for and made her even more unlikable.

And honestly, all these comments on Caity Lotz physical features is kind of silly.

Jeez, I hope this season doesn't become too crammed.. Season 2 is the best so far.. I mean as long as they can squeeze Laurel's death in there somewhere.. it'll be alright..

He was in an episode of Beware the Batman. I highly recommend BTB to anyone who likes Arrow. It feels a lot like Arrow without the budget constrictions.

yeah-they're definately going dep into DC whos who on the arrow/flash. that is so cool.

THIS is what i was thinking of when i saw the headline, not sure if its the same character but he was a "manhunter" back in the 80s.

Laurel sucks and Felicity is most likely gonna die this season. The Felicity/Oliver ship has got to die considering Sarah will most likely end up with either Laurel or Sarah.

@JillyMcBeam The show isn't exactly following the comic books. Just because Dinah Laurel Lance in the comic books is the main love interest, doesn't mean that this incarnation of her will be also.

I just think they are going to build up Laurel character and over the years we will see her transform into the Canary. I'm interested to see how she get's her sonic scream if she does become the Canary. I just think the way they have it set up, Sarah will die, and Laurel will dawn the Canary persona in remembrance.

Usually, DC is pretty good at keeping the main things in order. Usually.

I just dislike Caity. She's a terrible actress.

@JillyMcBeam I guess it's probably going to take awhile for me to warm up to Laurel then. From what I've seen in the Justice League & Young Justice animations, Dinah is a legit bad-ass heroine.

Despite her acting, I see more of that with Caity than I do Katie (which is funny how both their name sounds the same).

The writers are really going to have to step it up, if they go with the route that you're expecting them to go with.

@JorL5150 I was thinking the same thing; the Walt Simonson created clone version of the old Paul Kirk Manhunter, exactly like the image you provided. That would have been a great choice, he was also an assassin that teamed up with Batman. There have been many versions of Manhunter,Kirk goes back to the 1940's and was created by Joe Simon and Jack Kirby. DC brought him back along with the Guardian and other Golden Age heroes when they introduced Star Labs and the Cadmus Project.

I have said in the past that I am not a big DC fan, so I will need someone to help me here. Isn't the Martian Manhunter black? I mean, I know that Carl Lumbly voiced the character and I think Greg Morris played the character on Smallville. Am I wrong here?

There was an article posted quite a while ago on this site where WB/DC stated they had plans for all of their characters. (Probably before or sometime during Season 1 of Arrow) I guess this is what they were referring to... Expaning the universe/characters in Arrow, leading to The Flash; Constantine, Gotham... Who knows what's next.
