DOCTOR WHO Star Added To ARROW/THE FLASH Spinoff As 'Rip Hunter'/'The Traveler'

Following the news earlier today that the untitled Arrow/The Flash spinoff has found an actress to play Hawkgirl, it has now been revealed that a major star and fan-favourite character from Doctor Who has been added to the cast as Rip Hunter/The Traveler. Read on for details...

The Hollywood Reporter reveals that Rip Hunter has been cast in the untitled Arrow/The Flash spinoff, and The CW has found an actor who is no stranger to time travel. Doctor Who alum Arthur Darvill is in final talks to play The Traveler, a character they describe as "a roguish time traveler who hides the strains of being responsible for history itself behind a facade of charm and wit." We heard that the series would feature a time traveller, but many fans believed that it would be Booster Gold. Hunter led a team of time-travelling heroes when he was first introduced; could the likes of The Atom and Captain Cold be part of that? Darvill is also known for appearing in ITV drama Broadchurch. The actor joins a cast which includes Brandon Routh, Wentworth Miller, Dominic Purcell, Victor Garber, and Caity Lotz. How do you guys feel about this latest casting addition?

Which makes sense considering David Goyer said last year a Booster Gold film was in development and Snyder said Blue Beetle will come to the DCCU.

@MisterBatfleck I was hoping we'd get Booster here. if my theory is right Wells has connections to the multiverse and i guess that could mean all the shows and movies could co-exist and this is fueling that theory, kind of...
maybe, that could be a way for booster to exist in both, Like Ezra and Grant's Flashes

if youn read Berlanti's Flash script or the summary of it (i suggest you do, although it could spoil the show with all theyre integrating from there) it shows that they already are planning (or they WERE planning, and i still think they are with, as ive said, all theyre copying from that script) the multiverse. just maybe...

Yeah, I know CW was told they couldnt use Blue Beetle so they turned that character into Ray Palmer instead. Which I think turned out fine. Routh is great but we need some shrinkage.
