Is this supposed to take place in the Nolanverse? If it isn't they're certainly paying homage to it...

If this show didn't suck so badly, maybe I'd be able to watch it without feeling like I was on death row.

I watched the first episode but I kept waiting for Batman to show up and he never did? Who wants to watch a show that takes place in Gotham and doesn't have Batman? I think those hollywood execs are going to see this as a late night drunken hook up that they are going to regret as soon as they sober up.

This show is great. A police procedural that doesn't know its in a weird comic book city. They may have gone too far in a few places referencing future Batman villains but I'm hooked.

I messed up and missed the beginning of the episode so I chose to wait to watch the entire thing tomorrow

As long as they keep the Batman references to a minimum, I can continue to watch. I can do w/o Alfred and young Bruce.

Notice in today's episode a folder on Arkham that had the year 04 in it. If it's true then the events taking place on Gotham are 10 years old! Make sense?

I feel like every comic book hero show that comes out there is always someone there to bash it. Yes I would like to see some slight tweaks, but over all it is an entertaining show. It's a cop drama with a little bit of fantastical stuff but that is the kind of formula that kept the X-files running for quite a few seasons. I think this show has the potential to see a few season's as long as they don't go way over the top. I say keep the shows coming, there are going to be some hits and some misses but I am happy that they are making such attempts during my era.

@LexHairFight:

Thanks for the input man. I haven't seen the show, but just the designs and aesthetics presented in the promotional materials have reminded me of the Nolan films. Arkham looks like BB Arkham, Wayne Manor resembles BB Wayne Manor, Alfred doesn't look like the comicbook character, instead reminding me of Nolan's interpretation. Don't get me wrong -- I'm a huge fan of those films, but I was hoping the show would be more in-line with the comics.

I'm loving this show and don't really understand the negative responses here. We get to see a comic book tv show that is done in a real world way. Right now we're seeing the evolution of the Penguin and the beginning of the constant indifference that will eventually create the Riddler. All in a show that is more violent and dark than the Fantastic Four movies plus a little lesbian kissing thrown in for good measure. I'm hooked!
