GOTHAM: Robin Lord Taylor Teases The First Meeting Between 'Penguin' & 'Riddler'

Well, the men who will eventually become those iconic Batman villains anyway. Find out what the breakout star of Gotham had to say about the first time Oswald Cobblepot and Edward Nygma (Cory Michael Smith) have a little chat, which will happen at some point this season.

In the DC Comics and the likes of the animated series and the '60s TV show etc, Batman's villains team up all the time in an effort to take down the Dark Knight once and for all, but obviously we haven't nearly reached the point that we'd begin to see something like that happen on Fox's Gotham... yet. These Bat-baddies are only starting out, and although Robin Lord Taylor's Oswald Cobblepot is taking more and more steps to becoming the master-villain we know as the Penguin, Cory Michael Smith's Ed Nygma hasn't even emerged as an antagonist at the point we're at in this origin story. While speaking to CBR about what's in store for his character, Taylor reveals that at some point in the remaining season 1 episodes, Nygma and Cobblepot will meet, and it'll be "one of the top three things" he's been a part of in the series.

"Edward Nygma and Oswald finally meet, and it is, hands-down, one of the top three things that we've shot in the whole series. It's one of my favorite scenes, and I'm so excited for more. They're both such oddballs and so different, so differently odd. The dynamics between the two of us is just so fun to play and so different. To have two classic villains come together, I think it's one of the first times it's happened so far in the series. That's what I'm looking forward to."

Could this be the catalyst for Nygma to begin having some more villainous thoughts and set him on the road to becoming the Riddler? More from Taylor at the link below.
